Former Powers:

• “Hard Air” Generation and Control: Windshear can manipulate the properties of the air molecules around him at Amazing intensity, giving him the following powers.
  • Flight: By propelling hard air molecules behind him at a fast rate, Windshear can fly up to eight areas per round (Remarkable air speed).
  • Explosions: Windshear can compress large amounts of air within his area, then forcibly release all of it at once, causing an explosion of Remarkable (30) force that affects all targets except Windshear within the area.
  • Force Field: Windshear can erect a hard-air screen that grants him Amazing (50) rank protection against physical attacks, and Remarkable (30) protection against energy attacks. This screen can be generated only within two areas of Windshear's position.
  • Windshear can also change the shape of his air screen to form simple geometric shapes like cones, cubes, and globes.

Windshear is an amateur hero and has had some doubts about his ability to make the grade in the world of costumed heroes. He often acts impulsively due to his inexperience. When he gets nervous or put under stress, his British accent becomes more apparent. Windshear is not easily cowed or frightened into inaction, but he is still uncomfortable in his role as a hero. He constantly looks to others for confirmation that he is doing well at his job, even though he commits himself fully in his heroics. He thought he did his work only for money when he was with Roxxon.

Now, as a member of Alpha Flight, Windshear is realizing that he is a hero, despite his lack of experience and confidence.

Before being depowered, Hume's mutation power was that he would be hit with psionic backlash if his wind constructs were destroyed.

• Windshear Armor: Windshear still wears a suit of battle armor designed for him while he was a Roxxon "Para-Operative." The suit is reinforced and made of Remarkable material and specially constructed for Windshear, it  provides the following abilities.
  • Body Armor: The suit provides Excellent (20) protection vs. physical attacks.
  • The shielded face plate provides Excellent protection vs. blinding attacks.
  • Ear Radio: Windshear's armor has an radio to listen in on the police, RCMP and Canadian authorities private band: Remarkable strength signal over a 50 mile range. Windshear can pick up the Alpha Flight signal trasnmission in the armor.
  • Signal Implant: Consider the signal to be a Remarkable scrambled signal with a 3000 mile range that leads the members of Alpha Flight to wherever they need to be.

Alpha Flight; Roxxon Oil.

Colin grew up mostly in Canada, but moved to England with his step-father and mother in his pre-teens. He soon discovered his mutant powers and eventually came to be a Roxxon super-powered employee. Ashamed of the villainous deeds he was forced to perform as a special operative for Roxxon Oil, Windshear quit and became an official member of Alpha Flight. He served as an administrator and adviser to Beta Flight. During his time with Alpha Flight, Windshear gradually became more comfortable with the role of a super hero. When the Canadian government temporarily disbanded Alpha Flight, Windshear retired from the super hero life and returned to his home in England, where he set up a curio shop that sold high-priced objects, created with his mutant power, that were only visible under special lighting.

Hume was later revealed to be depowered.
