    History

Angelo Espinoza was born in the Barrio in South Central LA. Like many other teenagers in the area, he joined a local gang. His powers were triggered during a drive-by shooting, but Angelo told no one and quickly decided to leave the gang by only way he could - by faking his own death. None of his friends or family were aware of his plan and many truly believed him to be dead.

He was one of the young mutants targeted for harvest by the Phalanx and was captured along with Husk, M and Blink. He was rescued by Banshee, Emma Frost, Jubilee, Synch and Sabretooth. This was the first time he met most of his future teammates.

Angelo Espinoza Angelo joined Generation X when it opened and soon showed himself to be fun-loving, despite his resentment for his powers. Initially, he was quite secretive and wasn't too keen on having authority figures tell him what to do. However, as time went on, and he became more comfortable with his powers and teammates, his attitudes changed.

During his time with Generation X, Angelo was targeted by the X-Cutioner who wanted to arrest him for the murder of Angelo Espinoza, not realising that Angelo was in fact Skin. When he escaped the X-Cutioner, Angelo decided to return home, taking Jono "Chamber" Starsmore with him. There they visited Angelo's grave and encountered, Torres, his ex-girlfriend. They also observed Angelo's mother, though she did not see them. Angelo was heartbroken by this as his mother spat at Torres for being a mutant and it was clear that she had no respect for mutants.

After the disbanding of Generation X, Angelo accompanied Jubilee to LA. Here, he displayed amorous feelings for Jubilee, but she did not reciprocate them. Although he enjoyed LA, where he worked in a fast food restaurt, he was slightly disappointed in Jubilee, believing that she was being exploited by filmmakers and could do a lot better. When he was next seen, he was dead, having been crucified on the front lawn of the Xavier Institute by the Church of Humanity, an anti-mutant group. Mourned by many of his friends and X-Men, Angelo was destined to have as troubled a death as he had had life. He was buried in his family plot, but the cemetery did not allow the burial of mutants on its grounds and so he was dug up and cremated. Husk and Jubilee, after a confrontation with the cemetery manager, took his ashes.
