• Plasma Generation: Unearthly ability to generate solar plasma. He has so far demonstrated the following power stunts:
  • Energy Sheath: Incredible protection vs. Physical attacks. Anyone attempting to grapple him while his powers are active takes Incredible Heat damage.
  • Flight: Excellent airspeed
  • Plasma Projection: Incredible Energy, 7 areas

Medicine: Neal has Excellent Reason in the field of Medicine and surgery, including diagnosis, drug use and prescription.

Sports: Cricket: Neal knows the rules and regulations of the game Cricket. He has Agility rank ability to throw the ball and Excellent fighting when swinging a cricket bat.

Neal is a sensitive soul, someone who didn't set out to be a hero but who, through circumstances, was led to the life. He is a dedicated team player working alongside others to keep his friends safe and struggle to find his place.

X-Men Uniform:

The Uniforms are constructed out of unstable molecule fabric of Remarkable Material. The suits come with a standard comlink that has a 250 mile range and a GPS tracking device built into it. The suits are insulated providing Good Protection vs. Heat and Cold as well as being designed to hide the wearer from mutant scanning equipment, with the exception of the Cerebro. Consider this to be Amazing protection vs. Electronic Mutant Detection. The Suits are also lined with a material designed by both Forge and Hank McCoy that provides body armor, Excellent vs. Physical and Energy. The armor is extremely light and is no thicker or heavier then a standard tee-shirt.

The X-Men

Neal Shaara was born into an upper class family in Calcutta. His father was an officer of the Indian National Police and was well-respected. Neal became concerned when his brother Sanjit did not return from a trip. He left home to look for his brother. He soon met Karima Shapandar, who was asked by his father to search for Sanjit. The two began a relationship while searching for Sanjit. Neal and Karima learned that Sanjit had been abducted to be converted into a Prime Sentinel, and the two were soon captured themselves. The experience caused Neal's mutant powers to emerge. Sanjit sacrificed himself to save Neal. Karima also asked Neal to leave her before her Omega Sentinel would force her to hunt him down.

Neal contacted Moira MacTaggert and travelled to Muir Island. Neal was uncomfortable with the idea of being a mutant, and was initially shocked to see that the X-Men were also mutants. His reasons for taking the name of Thunderbird are unknown. Concerned about his powers, Neal would often hold back in battle. However Psylocke assisted him with training. The two became close as Betsy's relationship with Angel ended.

Neal agreed to join Storm's X-Treme X-Men team to search for Destiny's diaries. Psylocke's death at the hands of Vargas greatly depressed Neal, but Bishop was able to get him to refocus and continue to train. Bishop also curiously mentioned in his future Neal was one of the known X-Men members. Neal met and became close to Heather Cameron while the team was looking to protect her and her brother. When Davis agreed to have Sage 'jumpstart' his powers, Neal cautioned him. Davis was not comfortable with himself or his sister's transformation into Lifeguard, and left after the team battled Khan.

Neal eventually joined the X-Corp's Singapore branch, where he found the Camerons. While part of the X-Corporation Xavier contacted him while in Genosha. It is not known if Xavier has told Neal that Karima was found alive in Genosha or that Psylocke has also been found alive. He was one of the few mutants to retain their powers after the events of M-Day. He was still involved with Heather, and both were presumed to be still on the trail of Davis at the time of the Second Coming.
