The Geek Squad
This is the link to the game. I've been getting -some- of the world data updated in pinned
threads at the top of the group site.
This game is set in a slightly modified "Combined Cine-verse", since I've been 'head-desking"
over the screwed up comic continuity for some time now. I'm just not going to continue giving
myself a headache.

The Aurora Academy for Metaphysical Enlightenment
----------
The Academy is situated on around 500 acres of semi-arid/semi-mountainous land near several major
urban areas, including Phoenix, AZ and Las Vegas, NV.
The Academy prides itself on having green energy sources, and being offgrid, almost completely self-
sustaning. Among the facilities are greenhouses, gardens and a sustainable water supply. The power
is supplied by wind, solar and a high-tech, classified source.
The Academy's training facilities include a Biodome, holodeck and other conventional above and below
ground gymnasiums, courses and athletic courts. It has excellent recreational and sporting facilities.
Overall, the Academy has a very modern setting, with a high-tech "community college" styled campus
on the surface, with ample classroom, laboratories and libraries. It is known to house a superior
supercomputer/mainframe.
Houseing for students, staff and faculty is provided in fully furnished, highrise style condo blocks.
Among the extensive underground features are a holodeck, holo suites, hangars and aircraft for rapid
reponse teams. A state of the art sickbay with operating theatres, physical therapy, isolation ward
and clinic. The greenhouses and gardens are supplimented by the hydroponic and aeroponic labs.
There are comfortable containment dwellings for those whose metatalents are as-yet uncontroleld and
potentially hazardous to their fellow students, staff and faculty. Every effort is made to provide
as normal and pleasant an experience as possible. Remote presence classroom attendance and interaction
is provided as is additional counseling, evaluation and training.
Emergency housing barraks are maintained, in case of natural disaster or emergency conditions.
Near the athletic and training facilities are locker rooms, sanitary facilities, replicators and
recycling units.
The purpose of the Academy:
1: To train metahumans in safe, ethical use of their metatalents, regardless of origin, acquisition or
manifestation of said metatalents.
2: To provide a quality educatoin and personal enrichment for students, to support life-long learning
and advancement of cooperative understanding between all sentient species.
3: To provide a safe, supportive environment in which metahumans can develop their full potential.
4: Provide employement opportunities, matching metatalents, interests and needs of both the metatalented
and the public and private sectors.
5: To improve quality of life for metahumans whose metatalents are detrimental to their environment or
their fellow sentients.
6: To promote tolerence, understanding and harmonious co-existance between all sentients.
7: TO provide effective deterrants to extremeists and assist in counter-terrorism.
8: To serve as a resource and clearing house on genetic research, medical and scientific advancement,
technological innovation, xeno-sciences and exploration.
9: To promote and foster conservation, sustainability and mindful cultivation, preservation of Terran
resources and heritage.
10: To recruit and educate talent for SHIELD and its sister agencies across a broad spectrum of skillsets
and metatalents.

Prior to the events of the game:
Younger metahumans are in the care of an agency-sponsored "charter school" / vo-tech / community college
that's learned from the ups and downs of the Xavier Institute, Avengers Academy, the Future Foundation
and defunct metahuman education section of The Massachusetts Academy.
M/O and goals of agency weren't clear, but they appear to be benevolent. They treat the kids well, providing
them with room/board, full medical care, school and training uniforms/costumes.
There are a couple of different "squads" from among the older, more experienced students: A PR Team that've
become reality stars and media darlings. They're attractive metas with flashy powers and stylish costumes.
There was a hush-hush black-ops unit that very few know exists. It used some of the worst of the worst of the
most dangerous young metas (criminal, psych problems etc). They were being deployed under a controlled, anti-
heroic application of their talents / tendencies for the overall, greater good. The black-ops metas were segregated
from the rest of the students/society for security and PR reasons. The actual nature of those metas used isn't known.
There's a few others, such as those who have minor, but useful talents with specific or more versitile uses
and applications. Nothing flashy, but still useful for benevolent media exposure and mainstreaming.
Little known is the "geek squad" of young metas with either skills and/or powers involving tech, science,
engineering, etc. Their inventions experiences and activities stend to be low key in the general media, But,
they're much more high profile in the tech/science/academic industries.
A number of them work as Hackers, MacGuyvers and are involved in investigation, industrial espionage and
'theft'...following their own moral compass. THey've learned some interesting things in recent months...
maybe some things about the school? There's any number of things they could discover--such as the darker
aspects of the PR team's life/issues that are hidden, psych problems, addictions...the pressures of being
reality stars etc.
Among other specialised squads are the natural disaster response / recovery, search and rescue, medical
and the like. They all gain varying degrees of media exposure, attention and public accolades.
The geek squad has always played a more supporting role, is little recognised for their work. This usually
suits them JUST fine, as it gives them more freedom to work on what matters to them...
----------------
The Geek Squad recently evacuated their floor at the Academy and escaped whatever the sponsors of
the Black Ops squad had in mind for their newest member, Momentum.
One of their number took down the Black Ops installation and then joined her teammates in a safehouse
location down in the Phoenix greater-metro area, which is where they've been residing for the past several
weeks.
The Geek Squad is currently getting their bearings and trying not to infringe on their host, Jesse Cuervo's,
hospitality, by helping the paraplegic architect (and local superhero known as Black Crow) around his
estate in North Scottsdale... Of course, his friend and heroic partner, Jason Strongbow (aka American
Eagle) is none-too-happy aboutthe presence of "uninvited guests" currently occupying the guest house
over the garage!
