So i am looking to put together a campaign now that life isn't a pile of steaming poop for me.

Basically Home-grown characters, built on a point system in a fresh* Marvel/DC/Image Universe.

* - Fresh meaning limited history prior to the campaign - stating at Issue 0, and Pre-Gen characters that appear will be considered first appearances... almost like the cinematic universe - not decades of comic story line background. The limited History basically being that there were some supers during world War II - such as Captain America - but most people dismiss it as propaganda - as there hasn't been any active heroes pretty much since then. There is also rumors of Mutants and Aliens - again considered a big conspiracy theory. Cities like Gotham and Metropolis exist.. there is rumor of a Batman in Gotham - but again chalked up to urban legend/propaganda.. also countries like Latveria and Wakada exist - but at present no Dr.Doom or Blackpanther running around.... No Avengers, Xmen, Justice league ect...ect..ect...

The Player characters themselves are relatively new (or have been operating in the shadows and relatively unknown and any previous engagements have been against thugs and such)

A major event happens that shocks the world (to be revealed at the time of the game start), pretty much proving the existence of meta-humans to everyone as something real and not just conspiracy theory/Urban Legend type thing - The United Nations, headed by the United States - tasks the agency S.H.I.E.L.D. to analysis and deal with this threat - That's when Nick Fury shows up at the heroes doors with a recruitment deal to bring them in as a UN sanctioned team with connections to SHIELD to help deal with the Meta-Human problem (starting with the one that has Fury come knocking in the first place) - known as the Nexus Knights - mostly because they operate out of a secret SHIELD facility known as the Nexus (rumored to be SHIELDS R&D Hub for meta-humans - primarily focused on recreating the super soldier serum of captain America from world war II and other artifacts they have collected over the years). SO basically Fury shows up.. recruits the characters - drags them to the Nexus - briefs them further on the event they have to deal with - and sends them on their way... so begins Campaign 1, Scenario 1, Act 1.

The geography of earth will be a hybrid of the DC/Marvel Universe - during the game, characters will encounter a range of home-grown and pre-gen characters from the DC/Marvel/Image Universe.

Note: It IS plausible to play Pre-Gen characters upon approval, though i was thinking Home-Grown would be a more popular choice.

Are you still working on this? What sort of game would it be? Online, PBE, PBP?

Yes i am still working on this of sorts...

didnt really get any response to the game on here, so have sorta been working creating the universe in question and such.. building a wiki for it..

have convince a few of my friends to try a table top version of it. though none of them have ever played marvel (and most never tried roleplay).. so im not optimistic it will go far.

But its fun creating the universe all the same.. i might just use if for writing stories about various characters in the universe...

In the Universe i am creating there are presently three groups ive been working on:
Secret Warriors - which is like a black ops shield team comprised of various lower-end characters that do jobs for shield.
Crusaders - which is a space/cosmic level team.
Stormwatch - based on the original wildstorm/image concept - basically collection of international characters who operate as a counter-terrorist, metahuman/extraterrestrial threat response team - mandated by the UN.

Most of my concepts operated on the use of re-freshed Canon characters (basically Canon Characters with the majority of their history wiped away to the point of origin basically.. and those who's origin is based on another character/event having their origin tweaked).

So for Example:
Tony Stark/Iron Man - would be something akin to the movie - where he is in some war zone, gets wounded/captured, builds a suit and escapes - gets back to civilization and builds a better suit and starts his superhero life. Through campaign would have to deal with his company, discovering his technology has been used by bad guys and such..

Logan/Wolverine - Quasi-Amnesiac found in the Canadian Wilderness with basically no memories of his past, how he got his adamantium claws/skeleton ect. Recruited by Department H in Canada to be an operative - then depending on the campaign.. he is either assigned to the new group/team, or takes off from canada to do so or what have you. Through out the campaign/stories, will probably get flash backs or clues to previous life which can lead to a whole mess of adventures.

Bruce Wayne/Batman - Rich Kid, parents murdered.. dedicates life to fighting crime - goes to school and then buggers off around the world learning stuff - returns to Gotham as an adult and takes up the mantle of the Bat. Basically at this point taking out thugs and just starting career.

Thor Odinson - Asgardian God of Thunder, pissed off dad and banished to earth (though to allow game play would still have his abilities, just cut off from Asgard to start with and or reduced powers).. must do some heroic shit in order to gain access to asgard and full powers again.. mean while enemies of Asgard/Thor could show up to hamper his quest for redemption. Before pissing off dad, basically arrogant warrior who ran around the asgardian realms beating up trolls, giants and stuff - not been to earth for centuries.

anyway - think you get the idea as far as a re-fresh/start goes.
