KNIGHT INDUSTRIES TWO-THOUSAND SERIES

The Knight Industries Two-Thousand, K.I.T.T. for short, is a marvel of modern technology. Funded by eccentric millionaire Wilton Knight, K.I.T.T. cost upwards of eleven million dollars to develop. The car has an unspecified range and an array of incredible high-tech gadgets, controlled by the Knight 2000 microprocessor.

SERIAL NUMBER: ALPHA-DELTA-227529
Manual Control: AM
Auto-Control: IN
Speed: ShZ (300 mph/20 areas per turn)
Body: AM
Protection: Full

KITT Microprocessor Complexity: RM (For use when checking against KITT's mental stats)

*Limitation: KITT cannot harm innocents.

Origin: The Knight Industries 2000 car was designed as the ultimate crime-fighting tool. Given an independent personality, the car was teamed with ex-police officer Michael Knight as the ultimate crime-busting team.

Special Systems:

Auto Cruise: feature that enables the vehicle to navigate itself to a given destination. It utilizes on-board maps to plot the most direct route, as well as long-range radar to detect any possible obstructions ahead, short-range visual scanning to analyze the immediate environment, and collision avoidance systems.

In game terms, it acts as the Area Knowledge talent, always active, and giving a +1 to all Initiative rolls.

Comsuite: KITT has a dashboard-mounted video screen, just above the gearshift. This screen accesses most of KITT's communications functions, allowing KITT and driver to converse with the FLAG Mobile Base and each other as well. To achieve this, the driver wears a special wristwatch, with AM range.

Ejection Seats: KITT can eject either the driver or passenger's seats when necessary, with GD Strength, sufficient to eject 400 pounds of excess baggage.

Grappling Hook: This device shoots a hook out of KITT's front that attaches to most surfaces. In game terms, this hook is of at least RM Strength, as it is capable of allowing KITT to pull itself out of ditches and other hazardous areas.

MicroJam: This feature enables KITT to electronically jam other electronic devices and vehicles, thus effectively debilitating them, for a short duration. In game terms, this acts as RM Communicate With Machines, with the Limitation that it can only shut other machines down, not start or control them.

Passive Laser Restraint System: This is a type of "seat belt" which is extremely effective in keeping the occupants of the vehicle from flying around the interior of the car during some of KITT's high speed pursuits and maneuvers. In game terms, this provides EX protection to KITT's passengers in case of a roll or collision.

Surveillence Mode: This feature activates secondary alert sensors such as infrared detection, x-ray, audio/video recording, and motion sensors which aid in the surveillence of the surrounding environment. In game terms, this provides KITT and driver with the equivelant of AM Intuition, IN Tracking Ability, IN Enhanced Hearing, RM Night Vision, RM Infra-Red Vision, RM X-Ray Vision, and enough audio/video gear to record for several hours at RM range.

Super-Pursuit Mode: alters KITT's configuration and enables him to achieve a 40% speed increase. The accompanying Emergency Breaking System is used for increased deceleration rate needed to come to a quick stop after engaging SPM. In game terms, this boosts KITT's Speed to ShZ (420 mph/ 27 areas per turn).

Turbo Boost: Turbo Boost's primary purpose is to provide KITT with the ability to gain vertical momentum and send him "jumping" through the air. Another ability of the turbo boosts is to provide a dramatic increase in purely horizontal speed for a short duration. However, the latter feature is almost never used, especially because Pursuit Mode achieves the same purpose. Turbo Boosts are usually controlled by on-board computers to provide the maximum height and precise landing spot needed. In game terms, this gives KITT the Leaping power at RM rank.

Weapons Systems: KITT has several weapons available, including a flamethrower which does RM Energy damage, smoke grenades of EX rank, and several other classified systems.

VEHICLE STATISTICS:
Vehicle Type: Front engine, rear wheel drive, two passenger, two door coupe

Origin: The man known as Michael Knight was originally Michael Long, police officer. Shot in the face in the line of duty, Long was taken under the wing of Wilton Knight, multimillionaire and philanthropist. Knight had Long's face recreated in the image of his son, believed dead. Knight then was trained to become a super-agent against criminals, using the incredible power of KITT, a sentient car. Wilton Knight died soon after, and Michael Knight took up his cause, driving KITT and fighting crime wherever he found it.

Equipment: *Comlink: Michael's wristwatch is also a comlink, allowing him to call on KITT's aid at up to AM range.

*KITT: Although neither one of them would view it this way, Michael operates the Knight Industries Two-Thousand supercar. Of course, "operates" is more like "is assisted by," but the point is clear, Michael can utilize all the powers of KITT at will, as he is one of the few people KITT will allow to do so.

Talents: Detective/Espionage: Michael has been trained in police forensics, and can investigate crimes. This gives him a +1CS to his Intuition when investigating.

*Driver: When he actually is doing the driving in KITT, Michael is quite accomplished, gaining a +1CS to all Control rolls.

*Martial Arts B: Michael's police force training gives him a +1CS in hand-to-hand unarmed combat.

*Stealth: Michael is accomplished at sneaking about, gaining a +1CS to all attempts at hiding.

Contacts: *FLAG: The Foundation for Law And Government, FLAG is a privately funded, covert group dedicated to protecting Americans from crime and terrorism. Michael is their top agent, and can count on FLAG's aid.

Costume: Michael normally wears conventional street clothes, favoring blue jeans, a dark shirt, and a black leather jacket with black boots. He often wears mirrored sunglasses outside.

Personality: Michael is a real "man of mystery." Crusing from town to town in his supercar, saving the day, and then off again into the sunset. While he is incredibly brave, he is no fool, and knows when to cut his losses. He is essentially the classic action hero, strong, quick with his fists, and loyal to his friends and those in need.

Real Name: Michael Long
Occupation: Vigilante
Legal Status: American citizen, legally dead.
Marital Status: Widowed
Alias(es): Various, as per case bases.
Group Affiliation: FLAG

Height: 6'3"
Hair: Brown
Eyes: Brown
Weight: Unrevealed, probably about 200 lbs.
Other Distinguishing Characteristics: Michael's hair is extremely curly.

Nice but KITT's body should be considerably higher, given the treatment process rendered it nigh-indestructible (or was this based on his last appearances after KITT was robbed of his invulnerable body armor?).

Michael Knight's also not an altered human, he's a normal human. The only thing altered about him was his face via plastic surgery.

You know, I always had issues with the plot hole of KARR exploding when it went off the cliff and nose-dived into the rocks and beach below. I mean everything about the body of the car was nigh-indestructible, including the tires and presumably the gas tank yet somehow it explodes when it hits? Completely impossible, the nature of the vehicle's structure would have never allowed such a thing to occur.

You are right and KARR wasn't destroyed, infact he was just buried. Not sure how they explained it but some guy with a metal detector discovered KARR reactivated him and he went off of course to hunt down KITT.

Yes the retcon didn't make sense given the fireball from the previous appearance, nor did the car being buried in the sand like that with zero evidence of a fiery explosion or it still having a working car battery (or for that matter anything else able to function after fireball+ocean salt spray). Lots of handwaving when it comes to KARR's return.

Karr faked its death with an explosive exhaust blast that spent its fuel reserves and possibly knocked his computer offline. That explains the explosion and lack of immediate return... I guess it had the Karma necessary to pull off the mysterious death, and that's why no one went to investigate the remains.

A high post count is indicative of little more than one having the time to post frequently.

Actually it was probably the cheap stuff that did KARR in. Think about it, KITT had rich Micheal Knight to keep him filled with that premium unleaded but all KARR could afford was regular. You can't put that garbage in a high performance car, it says so in the manual.

Like two fighters preparin' for a match, one eating healthy stuff like steaks and vegatables while the other's eatin' twinkies...
