Martial Arts Supremacy: This power combines with any combat or physical-training talent in order to raise its effectiveness to superhuman levels (upon selecting or randomly rolling this power the player is allowed to select one bonus talent from Fighting or Weapon proficiencies for use with this power, and may select other talents in order to expand its range of usefulness). The basic benefit of this power available to any who wields it include substituting the power rank number in place of the standard CS bonus to whichever particular FASERIP the talent modifies if the replacement will provide greater benefits than the standard adjustment. For example Warfare possesses Remarkable Fighting ability and Remarkable Martial Arts Supremacy in Martial Art B, resulting in a net Fighting rank of Amazing in unarmed combat instead of Incredible rank compared to a regularly trained Martial Artist.
The hero/villain may also make focused attacks intended to destroy a physical object on a successful Red power feat, shattering or destroying objects up to Power Rank +1CS Material Strength. Other possible features or Power Stunts include (but limited to) the following:
-Add the power rank number to strength to determine damage inflicted in combat, as well as allow them to strike on either the blunt or edged columns due to their training. Some GM may choose to allow a minimum of +1CS to the damage from Strength if the power rank number of MAS doesn’t allow for a full CS or better but this is up to individual GM whether they feel that someone should benefit from a full CS to damage when the power rank number fails to allow for such an increase in damage.
-Do a power strike that inflicts an extra CS of damage over his standard maximum for damage on a successful power feat and forces a stun check on any living target subjected to it.
-Fight while blind or otherwise deprived of the benefits of sight (fighting an invisible foe) without penalty.
-Bypass natural or artificial body armor in order to inflict full damage on a protected target (A GM may require possessing Martial Arts D before allowing someone to develop this power stunt)
-Allow the character to fall from any height without suffering damage (May require possessing Tumbling or related talent depending on the GM).
-May make 2 combat actions in a given turn on a Green Power feat check, 3 combat actions on a Yellow feat check and 4 combat actions on a Red feat check.
-Make leaps as if his Strength was Strength + Power Rank Number instead, with a minimum of Strength +1CS. (Warfare has Good strength and Remarkable MAS, allowing him to make leaps as if possessing Incredible strength).
-Other power stunts are possible.

Optional Powers include Iron Will and Weapons Creation.

Not bad at all. smiling smiley

You've got some of the same idears that I typically attribute to that
sort of skill. I also treat it as a 'learnable' power that evolves from
devoted study and practice of the martial arts...taking one that extra
step into something more cinematic/mythic in the martial arts forms.

Cheers,

Ironically, I've batted about similar ideas in my head now and again, most recently in just the last couple of days...

Here's a few ideas I've developed for Martial Arts Supremacy:

Stunts & Applications for Martial Arts Supremacy:

*Increased Fighting Rank: In its most common form, Martial Arts Supremacy adds it power rank to the character’s Fighting rank for purposes of determining the character’s success at striking foes in melee combat.

*Additional Talents: While one begins with a single unarmed combat or weapon skill in which Martial Arts Supremacy boosts the character’s effective Fighting rank for attacks, one may learn to apply it to certain other combat skills in order to broaden their expertise. Aside from the common unarmed combat skill, other suitable skills include Blunt or Edged Weapons, Thrown Weapons, Bows, and even Improvised Weapons.

*Enhanced Damage: Martial Arts Supremacy may be used to augment the character’s normal amount of damage inflicted by unarmed combat (or weapon), adding its power rank to the usual damage rating.

*Combat Sense: While Martial Arts Supremacy may not grant the forewarning of Danger Sense, it may provide several similar benefits by adding its power rank to Fighting for Blocking or Evading, to Agility for Dodging, to Strength for Escaping, and to Intuition for determining initiative.

*Extra Attacks: Martial Arts Supremacy may add its power rank to the character’s Fighting rank for purposes of determining success at multiple attacks.

*Body Resistance: Through martial discipline and intense training, the character may develop a formidable degree of resistance to injury, compared to normal humans. This rank of Body Resistance is equal to one-half of the character’s Strength or Endurance (whichever’s lower or greater, at GM’s option); Alternately, the rank of Body Resistance can instead be equal to the character’s Martial Arts Supremacy rank -4CS.

*Deflection/Reflection: Martial Arts Supremacy may add its power rank to the character’s appropriate ability rank for purposes of deflecting or reflecting incoming physical attacks, including such feats as catching and throwing back physical, non-ballistic projectiles. Such physical attacks or projectiles may be simply diverted away from oneself or caught, or instead redirected towards the attacker or other suitable foes within range.

*Paralysis & Stun: Through focused strikes to pressure points, the character may deliver paralytic or stunning attacks of up to their Martial Arts Supremacy power rank in intensity.

*Remove Paralysis/Stun: Conversely, through acupressure treatment, the character may help alleviate Paralysis or Stun effects inflicted upon others.

*Death Strike: A more lethal application of targeting pressure points enables the character to force the victim to resist a Kill result, of up to their Martial Arts Supremacy power rank in intensity, or begin losing Endurance ranks.
