To add i guess if you were to ask fans ( comic and RPG gamers ) like us the " Who would win " question it would be--
IF you were the writer ( without editor influence ) who would you have win the fight in the comic you were writing?
Mine would still be Darkseid, in their 1st meeting at least. then of course Surfer is thrown in the dungeons and has to escape!
but he still loses.

These " who would win"s can be approched 2 different ways. ( maybe more?!? )
Who is more powerful- Darkseid or Surfer?-------------

Are these matches being considered for Marvel Canon game stats or just comic book match ups?
Titania vs. wonder bread(man) remember she has Am-50 fighting and i think MN-75 body armor. 2 attacks with a green doing more damage and better protection vs. wonder man.
by the numbers in the game Titania has the direct and real edge.
for the comics fight - almost everyone has what is called " a punc

maybe someone here at this great site come up with a logical base age for popular marvel characters ann then add the 13 year rule ( plus or minus when they 1st appear in comics etc etc.) to get a logical age?
i'm in. like to help in this venture.
characters physical condition based on regen or rebooted bodies ( although important ) not the same as plain age of character.

have not seen it yet but mught look into it on ON DEMAND- recorded shows ready to play.
I have heard some positive reviews and good points to the show but what are some of the flaws you guys have noticed in it?
do they or should they even name a winner at the end of the show?, any room for improvement or flaws you see? I ould rather people who like the show answer that way it would be taken as

Who could be considered the least attractive ( or even ugly ) Female ' MAINSTREAM ' comic book hero in comics?????
Most female heroes are very attractive or beautiful. Is there a plain girl/woman hero???
if so who is it, or they?

look at Romita Jr's work early in his career and then later on after he made a name ( his own per se ) for himself.
a big drop off in quality- his run on Uncanny X-men was good in a Paul Smith sort of way- clean style not the messy line style he went to in later years.
Capo makes a good point on Liefield ( not a fan but... ) who was caught taking panal layouts from George Perez in Teen Titans #

again!!!??? who played Nostrodomus on this one??? D.E.M says something idiotic and turns it into an -conservative/Bush/rebublican- "bad" liberals are good thing. ' groan ' yeah, he Never does it in threads. He comes off as a steroetype.

fair enough. DS went too far. and g.a.w. has a point. D.E.M. does this all the time and he is always pushing an anti- conservative commments. I have gotten into it with him in the past. i guess i will just not let him or anyone else get away with it again.
I wonder if any of you will call him out when he instigates a political DISS?

i did not want this to turn into a political debate I STARTED THE THREAD,- did anyone remember my earlier post on this subject- at the begining???
It was just a question on script control of writers and there editors, and or editors in chief and/ or company heads. i dont care now.
but for the record and since Dead sidekick is a lone voice i will include others as well guilty of turning around t

Marvel guns? Maybe they ( Management ) should not piss off there writers by adding or changing the scripts.
My topic was about modifying scripts not whether you dig the tea party movement.-
Some interesting points- If Cap's portrayal is affected by or should be affected by or can it be helped not to be affected by the companies political ideology?
can any comic company say clear of subtltie

Brubaker said it was someone in lettering or production that added/changed his comic script.
I wonder how much power "management" and editors have over comic scripts???
This thread is more about control over scripts not about pro or anti 3rd party politics.

on a side note i believe one can sniff the ' obama change ' for what it is and distrust his personal poitical and social philosophies and his mentors of those philosophies and ALSO think that Bush was not a good president too, like maybe 6 out of the last previous presidents.

any chance of this rule being abused?
Say a rogue hero at an end of a session banks all of his karma... when he has it because h/she doesn't care if he/she KILLS villains.
Saw this happen before. Character ( who eventually became a villain ) would kill people if by chance a kill result or endurance loss of his opponent happend. Sometime it would not during a session or an adventure/mission.- h

this is a good idea for a topic.
I agree that styles have changed and good writers like Alan Moore and others of the NEW WAVE of comics writers disliked the thought balloon or " talking to ones self " recap trend. I dont really miss it either but the reference of past events that shows current relavence with an

to G.A.W.'s point. I can most definitly see a WRITER having Thor give a long winded speech then get clobbered by Supes. I can see Thor act overconfident and or arrogant and getting clobbered. in short i can see a writer easily giving the Hero who started the Golden Age Of Comics the win.
Cap vs. Batman is a tougher sell on a clear winner. Thor vs. Supes, well no non-comic fan would be surprised

ya know factually speaking, in the GAME, there is no CANON OFFICIAL stats for Batman. So any fight in the game would be using fan- house stats anyway.
In the comic we all can try to handicap the fight between the two but instead of looking at total martial arts listd or equipment, yadda yadda,
think of it in writing/ writer terms in a comicbook medium.
Nightmask gave a good clue by bringing up

i had thought this topic was about situations, tactics, powers or rules that would be overly used to cause stagnate and repitious combat that players or a judge would use.
in that way it would not be a right or wrong debate?! just some of the EXAMPLES of "abuse" and how maybe the judge dealt with it.

we had a problem ( im part to blame ) phasing objects into characters for massive damage that by-passed bodyarmor.
In a canon Marvel game- SONICS were extremely effective by-passing armor with auto-damage and getting an endurance check and 1-10 rounds of stun was coming your way!!! thanks ironman... ya jerk!

Well, i feel True Invulnerability as ranked by TSR supplements has made that power pure "abuse".
If only it could be used as a catch all body armor versus all physical attacks ( not mental, or sonic ) it would seem to make sense to me. As far as FAN Marvel characters being given this power as described in the UPB - makes them a little lopsided power-wise comparitivly next to other Marvel charac

Marvel should of just showed predjudice against all super powered beings but that would of diminished the mutant as underdog minority metaphor thing they had going.
I remember an Avengers comic years ago when they were on t.v. and they showed a panel of an everyday american male saying something like they all are no good except maybe Cap. ( Captain America )
but still i am not buying the mutant

After i had disagreed over Kurt Busieks ability as a comic writer CapoCastillo has nailed this topic completely. I agree with his assessment. And to be honest his comments on a particular comic company and there hero universe take of mythological heroes should always be remembered before some specialized fan of say Hindu Myth, Japanese, Celtic etc etc get their panties in an uproar.
