Just an update. I completed the Marvel project a month or two ago. Check out the Marvel Unofficial Canon Project Facebook group for more details ( I rarely check in or post on forums these days) and a link to the files.
It's not new - I took the text from Marvel Supers revised (1991) and added art/different layout
There are things that I might (and might still) have done different but it ca

I print/bind my own books (I learned/am learning from an internet guide) and credit goes to the people who take the time to craft the files I print from. All I do is print it off and stick the book together!
Combined GM+players books in hardback format. Anyway, I'm on with the Basic Revised book now but figured I'd say thank you to the guys who put this stuff (and this site) together. Cheer

The Marvel Heroic Core book wasn't clear and easy to pick up - even now I need to keep reading and referring to it to figure out what the heck you're supposed to be able to do with the Doom Pool.
Despite wanting to love it, it left me cold. Dragging down big hitters so they wouldn't overshadow the weaker team members is a novel way of simulating comics, but leaves players who run Thor, Hulk and

Don't post here often (the perils of being registered to too many different forums and message boards, and not enough time) but figured I'd chime in. Started with Moldvay D&D Basic (81) and sold that so a bunch of friends could play, intending to buy another copy - except the place I got it from had sold out, and I wasn't going to spend what little pocket money I had on gaming magazines (to f

That was funny, thanks for the link. Kind of drives home just how ridiculous comic book characters are sometimes.
Ok, all the time.

Has Alan Davis moved on from Captain America pencilling duties? If so, I'll move on too. He's been a long time favourite of mine since the early Captain Britain days.
Other than that, Spiderman and Avengers are regular titles for me. I have a serious dislike of the secondary mutations that even non mutants are developing though, in that characters appear in several places at once apparently. Wit

I thought the CGI fight scenes were pretty good, show how far that's come on since the Raimi movies. As for the film, it was 5/10 for me. Not bothered about seeing it again. My problem is with the Avengers film in that it raised my bar of expectations and enjoyment, so that everything else has to measure up or be regarded as disappointing. The costume, the mask thing, story, pretty weak for me.

Off to see it tomorrow (Saturday) and Monday (Imax)
On the downside, just horrible what happened with the cinema tear gas/shooting, with 14 confirmed dead so far at time of writing. There are some... evil... people about who do this sort of thing. Horrible.

I've not followed any title save Spiderman or the Avengers for a while, but my son reads all sorts. He was a big fan of certain DC characters (Superboy, Green Lantern, Batman Beyond and a few others, Justice League, Teen Titans etc). Now he won't touch DC, at all, since the reboot. I've read a few reboot comic books and I'm confused. Aren't reboots supposed to re-ignite interest and get people re

I think what they've tried to do is find balance, in that the Hawkeye and Black Widow characters can blend with Thor, Iron Man, Hercules and so on, and be equally as useful, as they are in comics. Unfortunately games don't play like that because you have stats and defined limits and levels of power and ability. Hawkeye, Black Widow, Daredevil, Moon Knight, all those characters and more are street

PDF is out. In UK still on preorder (due out 10th July and doubtless prone to slipping)
Part of me thinks to collect this for completeness but another part says I'll never play it. It's (to my mind) not suited to play by post where I get my RPing fix these days. I'm sure there's a way to fudge/fix it, but another thing that put me off was the sheer crunch/in at the deep end of the writing style

I think a similar upgrade happened to Luke Cage a few years ago when he changed from yellow shirt headband guy to shaven head cool badass dude. He was (to my mind and just about every write up) 10 tons/Spiderman level. Now he's around 25 tons/mid Amazing level I believe (according to the Marvel wiki I think - would need to check).
Thing is with most of these upgrades, they don't stick. How many

I guess I need to play this as every example of play I read has me blinking and staring, homer like, whilst my brain gets round the steps and plots and dooms and stresses and such. I understand there are fans but really feels/looks like a different game bent and twisted to fit the Marvel Supers Genre, and sometimes that doesn't work. For us 'old school types' I think it's hardest getting your hea

I'm another one who played MSH back in the day (1984 wasn't it?) to death, then my love was DC heroes, Advanced Marvel DC Heroes again, and again... All good games, and everyone has their own favourites and reasons why. There've been lots of supers games since, and loads in the last 10 years, and most (if not all) have one thing in common - they aren't hard to pick up and figure out. Some might b
