You mentioned Hyper-Leaping and Hyper-Digging.
It got me thinking of what happens if they combine....
Version One-- Think of a Hulked-Out Bugs Bunny. The Hero leaps into the air and travels quite a distance before crashing into the ground. As the Hero descended he assumed a pose akin to diving in to a pool. This is exactly what he did. At the bottom of the impact crater is a tunnel that is

"Soulfire" and "Hellfire" would have sat on the bench alongside "The Power Cosmic" and other terms I thought were too nebulous to spend time on during the marathon sprint of writing the UPB in '86. That and I wold have deferred to Karen's order to go easy on the Magic since there was a Magic-specific sourcebook then in production from a staffer.

I wouldn't consider "Magic" an energy in that sense.
Well, except in maybe a raw, sparkly, chaotic form. I'm imagining a blast or bolt of magical energy to be a stream of ionized pixie dust. The effect on the target? Probably a series of small, short-duration, random results. For example, the target briefly gains a donkey head / head returns to normal as body is covered in flowers/ flowers tu

If you've got some variation on Teleportation and no interest in Fighting Evil, you could make money as a very secure courier or transporter service.
If you've got Collection, take a long walk thru a scrapyard or landfill and start pulling all the valuable metals out of the miles of debris.

"...Took her virginity"?
Wow. I may be 63 but its been ages since I heard / read that old phrase.
A young woman who beat the villains she has would never let anyone "take" something from her.
That typed, if they had ever coupled as a couple, I'd say she was the one who initiated things. Remember, no one can stop Squirrel Girl.

The basic concept here is the size relationship between the Hero and the ground.
My math is rusty but this is how I figure it---
Assume the Hero retains his normal speed of movement as he grows.
A 6' person walking with normal 2.5' strides covers 1 mile with 2112 strides in 20 minutes. Speed 3 mph
A 12' goliath walks with 5' strides that cover 1 mile with 1056 strides in 10 minutes.

I never bought QUASAR but that was a fun idea, slipping Barry Allen into a Marvel book for an issue.
He was MIA at DC at the time, after all, so this could conceivably be canon.

"How does invisibility work in combat? I've searched the forum but my search-fu is weak..."
There are 4 basic forms of Invisibility -- Physics, Telepathic, Hallucinatory, and Holographic.
They all serve two functions-- to prevent the Hero from being detected / attacked --and-- to protect the Hero as a kind of force field.
Check S16 in the UPB's Self Alteration Powers for details.

One real life comics character who really did move from Marvel to DC to Pacific (who?) and finally back to Marvel was MANTIS. Her creator Steve Engelheart kept popping her in his stories as he drifted between companies and titles.

As Superman's foes the Avengers would fit into four basic categories--
(1) Sit this one out because your are seriously outclassed and you don't have anything to prove
(2) "I think I can take him! At least I have to try!"
(3) A worthy foe, a potential loss
(4) Magical natures
(1) These are the unpowered and low-powered members on the roster. Black Widow, Hawkeye, Black Panther, Wasp, Falcon,

The term sounds like Stan or Roy was skimming thru Timothy Leary or Eastern Mysticism when he coined that term.
I just call it Omniscience. You have an innate understanding of everything around you, limited to range and accuracy by your power rank.
Conceptually your Hero takes a step back and exams all the ethereal Pop-Up notes that appear on everything, then checks the cosmic Google for ex

Hi People,
I am alive and, well....
It's been a year since my last post on any topic and two years since my last response on the "Ask Dave" thread.
Sorry about that. Not exactly sure where the time went.
Too much time sucked into playing Whack-a-Mole of Facebook posts, probably. That and the "Marvel Avengers Alliance" game. Those of you reading this and who play that know what a Vampire -

I was suffering through another bout of the 48 hours cruds (chills/fever/lethargy/frequent micturation)...
I'd acquired Juggernaut a few days before but thinking of all the time it would take to raise him to 11th or 12 level like the rest of my team....
So as I lay there bored and delirious and hoping there was a repeat of ORPHAN BLACK later in the week, I decided to block the game.
I figure I'

"It seemed a good idea at the time" ?
As you may infer, I got too damn involved with that damn MAA game. Good think I detest alcohol and tobacco as I suspect I have an addiction-prone personality.
Looks like I have a lot of old mail here to respond to.

The Avenger was "Kenneth Robeson" 's other pulp hero.
Deciding to settle down and raise a family, the first Avenger adventure ("Justice, Inc."), Benson's plans for a peaceful life as a "world-renowned industrial engineer" are shattered when his wife (Alicia) and young daughter (Alice) are killed during an airplane journey. The shock of this loss has a bizarre effect on Benson. His face becomes

Hey Ty, I'm there too and with the same idea. I do not want Punisher so I'll see if I can amass the Gold fast enough to do the bypass as well. Rescue might not be as mind-numbing awesome as Sentinel-Cutie or Psylocke but I like the idea of having a complete set of Starkies.

It wasn't. I was inspired by the EVIL OVERLORDS list. I started scribbling out things a sensible Henchman would do and posted the first installments here and on the DC Comics boards. People like Alabar0 and Sun King added more. And after the sex change was suggested by Carol Strick, I

But now a lot of folks have ISO snowflakes in their slots.
And the newly acquired Iron Man suit is powered up. It's fun to watch him tear thru the mass villains pile-ons in Chapter 12.

Two things I remember about that series--
(1) No matter where they were in the ocean, Godzilla was always in calf-high water.
(2) Godzooky was apparently a size-changer. If he was with the humans, he was about 8' tall. If he was with Godzilla, he was 100' tall.
