That is my understanding.
A better question might be: At what point is a Stun/Slam/Kill Result "irresistible"?
I have always played a general rule that if the incoming damage is +2CS or greater than the target's Endurance, then the target is incapable of resisting the Slam/Stun/Kill check.
But if the target has a type of DR (Armor Skin), which lowers the intensity of the incoming damage, to wi

I have a question about Endurance checks and damage resistances. If the incoming damage exceeds a target's Endurance, but is mitigated by a defensive power to a level that is within a column of the target's Endurance.
Example:
Hero has an Endurance of Excellent (20), and Body Armor of Remarkable (30), gets hit by Villain who has Incredible (40) Strength. The roll result is Red (Stun). Hero l

Dear Marvel Gurus:
I’m running a new campaign with a few new characters. I have had limited exposure to psychics thus far. Just a few questions. Thanks in advance. I hope all of you are in good health and safe.
1. When a character with telekinesis attempts to engage an opponent, should they have to perform an Agility FEAT or TK Power Rank FEAT? Should it be resolved as a Grappling Attack?

Fantasy Maps and Tiles/Textures to create your own maps are readily available with a simple Windows Explorer search. Combining that with a quality art program will allow one to create any map they wish, and it's a fairly simple process with a little practice.
Maybe I should've said... I hate PC's... iMac only, son. Maybe a bit more detail to your reply?

Hola, Caballeros:
Just curious as to what everyone is currently using for maps. I've been running some campaigns for PC deities, and dungeon tiles have provided great environments. Also, Warzone Studios Battle Mats are pretty nice. I've been thinking of having a few maps I like (Lower Manhattan, Central Park) enlarged at Kinkos....
Suggestions?
Gracias,

I'm glad someone asked this question, and I like the mechanics. I wish I had thought of this about 10 campaigns ago.

I cleaned up Martial Supremacy C, bringing its output down bit and making its mechanics a bit more like the other Martial Supremacy variants. Thanks to NikMak, Thudjelmer, and Nightmask for your input.
Martial Arts C – This form of Martial Supremacy is probably the least sexy. Prior to each Grappling Attempt perform a check at Martial Supremacy Rank. Success means the PC’s Grappling Intensit

QuoteBonus means just that bonus, as in doesn't cost you anything. If something costs you then it isn't a bonus. 'Buy one get one free' isn't free if you're also paying for the 'free' one as well. So it's a gross error whenever you see 'bonus power, automatically fills and uses up the next slot if you have no slots you get no bonus power' because that's not a bonus power that's a required power.

QuoteYou mean like how most ranged attack powers are dependent on Agility and so have a bonus power function that boosts Agility so that the power isn't hampered? Except that isn't how other powers work.
True.. Obviously there was some special mechanics in play here, but I was pushing a bit too hard, I think.

I'm still interested in your ideas for Marts C,D & E though - if you care to develop them further?
I have a Martial Arts E PC that I have played for a while and I like it quite a bit. The C&D variants on the first page of this thread are available for your perusal. I have a feeling that the C variant is OP'd, but I have yet to play it. I'm not sure the D variant has enough

I use the ultimate powers book ( 'UPB' ) - I don't recall any mention of Psyche in Martial Supremacy - are you using different core rules to me? or is the addition of psyche in your games a house rule? (I think you are but its not 100% clear to me)? : - in which case you bring back to my original question. Why add Psyche into the mix at all for Martial supremacy? the Rules as written

A critique under my terms? Yes, that's what I wanted. So what? I wanted feedback both logical and factual, not whimsical editorials. It would sure be less work for you to just read through and not respond rather than saying, "I read it and think it is blah, blah, blah based on my experience which is zero with this particular power set, and still yet I feel like responding just because I can

Minor rant indeed.
Well allow me to retort. Prissy? Not me. I'm a tough guy. grrrrr Brilliance? Why, thank you, young man! *obligatory sarcasm note*... I'll bet the girls just swoon over your scathing, caustic wit. You complete me.
It was just an attempt to analogize the critiques of those who had never or would never try the variations out as written. It's a little frustrating to

After playing with a few of characters with Martial Supremacy, I made significant changes to the A and B variants of this power. I feel these changes have made these variants of Martial Supremacy far more useful, gratifying and just plain fun. Critiques are welcome, but if you are not willing to experiment with the powers and mechanics before rendering critique, your words are that of an exper

I should have included the fact that the setting in this campaign is a group of heroes that I have played through the Cosmos Cubed Trilogy. It would have to be customized to your group of PCs, because there are certain failsafes that would not be available.

QuoteTelepathic/Empathic + fast reflexes to avoid attacks? Certainly sounds like danger sense to me
From the UPB
It is a combination of automatically functioning
Psionic Powers (Telepathy, Empathy, and
Precognition) that warns the hero about
impending danger.
There is no mention of fast reflexes to avoid attacks in the UPB Danger Sense narrative. Sure, you can say, "Well, indirectly it has to

QuoteWhy not just have danger sense? Doesn't that do almost everything you want here?
It has a few similarities to danger sense, but Danger Sense does not reduce the raw dice roll of the attacker. You would have to be playing a highly modified version of the game for that. I felt like it wouldn't be true to the character to

Hey, ladies!! So, I used to play City of Heroes, a MMORPG. I had a character with a power named Super Reflexes. Dude was untouchable... Until he was... His health would hit zero sometimes. But most of the time, the baddies couldn't lay a finger on him. I tried to model him into the MU and I couldn't figure it out for the life of me. And then, Eureka (props to my man, Archimedes)!

The Advanced Players Book has a power listing for Recovery. There are also several profiles in the Gamer's Handbooks that list characters with a Recovery power. I thought this was a pretty kick a$$ power. If you were defeated and beaten to within an inch of your life, you could pretty quickly recover lost Endurance Ranks. I can envision a few builds that make use of it, especially pairing it

Uh no, that's very much a tactical benefit. It's providing you a benefit that improves your side of things in a conflict, where you can drag things out depleting your enemy's resources while yours are renewing.
Well, when I think of tactical and tactics, I think of active moments of combat. Strategy and strategic moves would be choices of where and how to engage an enemy. If a
