In answer to your question, here is my opinion...
While certain works of literature would have us believe that there are seven sins, there is actually only one sin.
Selfishness. Every other sin is actually just a form of selfishness.
It is because of one or more of the many forms of selfishness that have become more endemic in recent years that toxicity is allowed to thrive.

Hello,
I'm Vincer. A long-time GM for many campaigns and systems. I recently gravitated back to the classic FASERIP rules after literally bouncing between every other Marvel RPG that came since.
After tooling around with the latest version, I started to get nostalgic for the original TSR game. After discovering this site was not just "around" but also thriving with new content, I wa

Then they could start publishing GHOTMU with current characters.

GHOTMU for each universe... cover a couple of universes in one book for the ones with less screen/page time.

So i guess the new....
MARVEL MULTIVERSE ROLE-PLAYING GAME: CORE RULEBOOK Hardcover – August 1, 2023
is coming out.... I don't suppose anyone wants to shell out 54 bucks plus tax to review a game that most likely absolutely won't be better than TSR's Marvel RPG ( FASERIP )
Fixed that for you.

My focus was on the heavy hitter of rescuing, but you make an excellent point that even with only duplication, there are many ways to potentially earn karma, and a lot less fraught with potential risk than water-based rescues.
If one's family is scattered around, you could spend time with each one separately and simultaneously, maybe toss in a few close friends as well.
Imagine the karma poss

Indeed so.
My theoretical scenario takes that into account.
Given an Earth-like planet, you could manage multiple rescue attempts per day scattered across the world.
Please note that the net karma per day of my theoretical scenario is measured in the hundreds, maybe a thousand-ish on a busy day.

Having done some calculations, pulling off surface rescues only (the estimated volume of the Earth's oceans is far beyond the largest cubic volume of effect given in the tables) it would require a power that functions on the Range E column at Monstrous or above rank, divided by the number of duplicates or copies with a rank of power that can allow for meeting or overlapping the divided areas of i

One does not put anyone into danger. One simply rescues them once they get in danger. And prevent property damage during storms and floods, etc. I'm not sure where you got the idea of causing dangers to happen?

Point buy or random roll makes no difference in my group... because one guy in my group has (proven not cheating) insane dice luck. He rolls high 95% of the time, which has obvious side effects on the character generation tables, more so on the UPB tables.
Not in my groups. I see more low rolls and fumbles than anything else in the myriad of systems I have run.

I've seen two methods proposed for exploiting karma.
The first I'm not sure I buy, but the theory was to max out the wealth somehow, then buy a planet, and become ruler of said planet, and somehow that was supposed to grant the character a huge amount of karma to tap into. I cannot recall the specifics.
The second method was to have powers related to water and duplication and multi-tasking at

I found another statement supporting the idea that the Advancement Fund are not normally touched, even by Karma loss... in the Immortality power it states that when an immortal character "dies" (in the Earth dimension) they lose all karma, including that set aside for Advancement.
Given the specific addition of this statement here, and the lack of it in the other locations that discuss characte

I think you have to pay at the time of each attempt. At least that's how it would work in my game.
I do believe that is the original rules.
My suggested modification is that you can attempt it whenever, but you only pay the karma on a success. Otherwise, I was not modifying the rules as I was going for the minimal change route. Thus one might have to try 14 or 20 times, but using

Unless I missed it in the Advanced rules, there does not seem to be a crushing mechanic?
Is that usually handled as a continuous Charge attack of a certain intensity? (which could be a valid method)
If so, is that official (book and page number, please), or is that just a common houserule?
If not, where does it mention a crushing mechanic? (book and page number, please.)

Oddly enough, during the heyday of Superman, he was outshone and out sold by Captain Marvel (the original one) who was more influential by far. That's why DC bought the rights in the first place, lol. Captain Marvel became a family man, and that resonated with the general public much more than the lone pillar of morality and justice that was Superman.
