Two things..

One lookng for gamers in the hamilton ontario area to get together for a game, held bi monthly at start and looking to game weekly if there is interest.

Secondly if that falls through, would there be any interest in anyone joining a game that i would run? Not sure where orwhen it would be held, maybe even running a chat game again as gil's game kinda fell through...

K so here it is...

The computer tech believes that the problem is as follows (if i understood him right).

The motherboard bios does not recognize my cpu. He believes that the motherboad was created before the cpu, and as such to fix the problem, i have to buy an older cpu to go into the motheboard bios and then change the bios settings to accept the newer more powerful cpu chip.

So i am going to have to check around to try to fnd either an old or secondhand cpu chip that i can borrow to fix my compy and get it up and running. My bishop works at mcmaster university in the computer department so hopefully he can help me out with fixing the problem.

I will keep everyone informed and updated. The second thing is thus... would there be more of an interest in a chat game or a pbem game? I know Nini can't do chat due to her work schedule, what works best for people?

Now as to the game itself...

It will be in an atternate world there will be some characters that you are familiar with but they will not be as you lnow them in the 616 universe. The campaign deals with an ancient hidden war between the powers of good and evil, light and dark. Use the upb, phb and utb for character creation as well as the weapons locker. If you as a character have immortalit or longetivity as a power, please limit your age to no more than 200 years of age (well born in say 1800 at the earliest). Oh amd no powers above Mn rank please. Abilities can be above Mn but no more than 1 ability at Un rank and no morre than 2 abilities at Mn rank ( that makes it 1 Un and 2 Mn maximum). No Thor or Hercules health characters walking around with 320 health, or 250 karma ( health and karma will be capped at 75% of maximum alowable abilities that is 300 health and 225 karma). Powers with ranges will be limited to the lower column tables as well (no life detection powers with 2.5 billion mile ranges. This is because the campaign will be held on earth and you dont need to be on earth and detect lifr on saturn.

As for character creation, are you trusting us to roll randomly or will you setup a point value for the heroes? Otherwise we may really end up with a bunch of heroes set at max ranks.

I trust you guys to roll up what you want with the caveat that i may knock back a sat or two if i feel that the rolls or powers were nerfed.

To me character concept and story are more important than numbers. As long as you have a solid idea of character concept and background and who you are playing is im fine with that. There have even been times where i have raised a players powers or stats to suit more in with the character concept if i felt they needed it... i'm pretty relaxed like that

Must uave been all those years of Drama and school plays from grade 4 through the end of highschool.

I've never played by email before. I think I could handle a play by chat though. I'm just barely too far to play in person with you at 2.5 hours of travel time. Which is nuts because it seems "so close."

yeah darn that travel time and possible border crossings...

Now if you wanted to, you could roll up your characters in the chat room, as major seems to have been doing. Unless that is for the tandom post thread..

Ok so heres the update. Compy is still not fixed (not enough funds at present for fixing. Childrens needs especily those with special needs come before Daddy's needs). Hoping that march will net enough funds to get it fixed. Maybe after taxes. But i am still working on campaign stuff. As i am limited to the phone or library at present i will be starting to accept character submissiions as of march the first.

Your choice. If you want help with either i am more than willing to assist. If you want to use a pre existing character writeup and tweak it a bit to make it your own im fine with that except the character will be at issue zero per se with none of the comic history beyond what you include in your writeups. Feel free to add talents from the ultimate talents book hat fit your character concept. And as with all submissions i reserve the right to have final say on the ranks of powers and faserip and as such, i may modify some of the previously mentioned.

As an example, say you wanted to play "superman" (or a kryptonian) i would request that you use my writeup (titles suprman reassessed) instead of the one listed under the old character profiles on the site here.

If creating from scratch, for the ammount of talents a character has roll for them on the same table number as you would for powers in the ultimate powers book.

This is an update.

My motherboard was faulty from the manufacturer so I had to do an RMA for the board after a complete diagnostic. I sent the board off to the manufacturer yesterday, and they should be getting it today (if they do not already have it.) I am hoping to have the replacement by next Friday, and hope to start game no later than the 25th.

Alright. I have accepted provisionally Aeshma's character concept, as well as Niniri's as well. The confirmations will be final once I see the character writeups and histories, and after any adjustments (if needed) are made.. anyone else still interested? Majorsteel perhaps? And those others who posted interest?

I looked at it briefly and most of it looks good, I have no problem with any of the faserip., though I with need to go over it more in detail later on. I'm curious as to why you chose imitation over say, linguistics or some form of telepathy though... and possibly adding in the weapon specialist swords talent? That would be fine as well.

Those other power fit the theme too. I just picked Imitation as a way to blend in with people and to use a power that probably isn't taken very often. Weapons Specialist for the sword is a good idea too and the +2CS instead of +1 still doesn't overpower things.

I have played the game for many many years, and would like to join. Is there a particular type of character you are looking for or have enough of?

Nothing particular that I'm looking for specifically. Just go with what interests you most. Pick a couple of concepts and shoot them by me, and we will go from there. I'm pretty laid back (or so I like to think) and character is more important to me than stats. Just be sure to follow the above campaign guidelines for faserip and power ranks, and remember to use the ultimate talents book for your talent choices, but no more than the listed maximum talents as labeled under the ultimate powers guide for powers (I.e. 14/18 to start).

I use the powers table as opposed to the talents table because at the time the talents were created there were a limited amount to choose from. With the ultimate talents book, there are a lot more options and as such I feel that yous should be able to show that as we are in a superhero game.
