Is there a source (or sources) you can cite for that info other than just "floating around"? Because I'd love to know that synopsis is accurate so I can feel justified in my hating this movie in advance. I mean, usually I complain and people tell me to wait and see and judge after... but if this is true, I think I can safely state my hatred without many people getting on my case about it.
