I just rolled a character with it and to be honest I don't understand how it works. Is it like Astral Body without the silver cord to your physical body?

Exactly.

One caveat is that the Free Spirit doesn't have to be with it's original body. You can basically have two characters, sort of a gestalt.

The other if memory serves is if you've got other powers you can 'loan' them to the body you're currently partnering with, so if you also had for example True Invulnerability you could loan that power to a non-powered human by joining with them so that they could survive an otherwise fatal event.

Thank you both. I thought that was the case but I've rolled it before but never used it, and with this character it became kinda of central to the theme of the character so I wanted to ensure I was going to be using it right.
