Sad day.

For Generation Xers like me, she was the IT girl.

Regardless of what one thinks of post 1983 Star Wars legacy it was a great engine for dreams and imagination, for me personally a great influence.

And Carrie Fisher was a big part of it.

How very sad to hear. At least she's free to never hear the haters hating on her again and can rest in peace far from that.

"A shared universe, like any fictional construct, hinges on suspension of disbelief. When continuity is tossed away, it tatters the construct. Undermines it."

She will always be my first love. I'm glad to hear she was able to complete the shooting for her part in Episode VIII. The scene in VII where she sees Han again was one of my favorites. Truly a sad loss.

Strange and depressing, mother of Carrie Fisher , film legend Debbie Reynolds dies one day later.

A lot of people I grew up watching on TV died this year and she was the one that affected me the most. My wife and I went to see Rogue One tonight and the End scene nearly brought a tear to my eye. While, for me, it's an after thought that she has finished her scenes for Episode VIII I am glad I'll get to see her again for Christmas.
