There are some introductory games in some of the boxed sets and compendiums. The X-men boxed set if memory serves has one featuring young mutants just discovering their powers, the Avengers book contains one for heroes becoming part of an Avengers Franchise deal, the Doctor Doom boxed set also has one.

"A shared universe, like any fictional construct, hinges on suspension of disbelief. When continuity is tossed away, it tatters the construct. Undermines it."

The Lands of Doom boxed set has an entire campaign hidden inside. It's ...AWESOME!!, one of the best products produced for the line (maybe the single best product). It also has a great history / timeline woven into it concerning Latveria and the MU.

The Revised Basic Rulebook features 4 mini adventures in the back of the book: When the Scorpion Strikes, Dread of the Dreadnoughts, The Mall is the place to BEE and The Behemoth Walks.

One world of adventure is never enough.

The X-Men boxed set has a fun one, particularly if your group is all teenagers or enjoy playing young characters. Cameo appearance of Beast and you get to play basketball... it was an odd time but a fun time... also Bushwacker, the guys arm is a gun!

Most of the Basic Set adventures are pretty short. However, the New York, New York supplement and the City Campaign Set simply have random encounters, so you can make the session as short, or as long, as you want.
