Andre Linoge is a powerful wizard who may predate Atlantis and was present at many of the tragedies that have befallen mankind. Linoge is powerful enough to be confused with the demon Legion and has been responsible for the destruction of the Roanoke colony as well as possibly having a hand in the destruction of Atlantis itself. Linoge’s skills and abilities are usually necromantic in nature, but he has displayed some greater manipulation of the environment. Linoge does not require ritual or prestigitation to use his mystical abilities, but does utilizes focuses. As such, Linoge has demonstrated the following:
  • Magic Pool: Linoge has a 50 point per round pool he can utilize in a variety of abilities to cause effects or persistent/continually effects. Linoge can create illusions, travel in and manipulate dreams, read minds, cause great illusionary pain (and occasional) real pain to individuals, fly, teleport, manipulate his environment to unlock doors, and to deconstruct/damage communications and electronic signals. Linoge can spend point-for-rank point out of the pool to achieve his goals (For instance, to create Ex (20) Hallucinations he would need to spend 20 points). Linoge can create situations which remain persistent (Such as the winter storm that threatens Little Tall) and has been known to force people to walk into the sea (as he did with the Roanoke colony). (See his cane for more details)
  • Longevity: Linoge is not immortal but instead has a great deal of Longevity which makes him to mostly appear as a man in his thirties. Linoge’s longevity also extends to explain his high Endurance – which remains at Am (50) throughout millennia. Linoge’s longevity however has drawbacks – when Linoge finds himself reaching the end of his lifespan he will have to find someone to take his place – an apprentice. Linoge will choose a child from a community and take the child after its community has given it to him. Once that occurs a ritual will happen which will rapidly age Linoge but will transfer part of his being into the child thus beginning a new cycle. Linoge will eventually then age and die normally after instructing his successor. Linoge seems to be almost immortal when still in his ‘younger’ form, and can recover from near deadly events within minutes.
  • Linoge’s cane: As it was mentioned both in the miniseries and the subsequent novel Linoge utilizes a silver-headed cane to work his magic and probably to extend his persistent spell-effects by working his power through the cane. Linoge can use his cane to extend the effects of his power pool upwards of 24 hours by empowering the cane (which can store up to 100 Points of mystical power), recharging it as necessary to keep his persistent spells working. The cane is never separated from Linoge and even if destroyed through conventional means will be reformed in Linoge’s hand with 1 round.
  • Divination: Using a bag of pebbles supposedly from Atlantis itself Linoge may determine and divine which child is his successor or determine which families will be sacrificed. The Bag has seven (7) white stones and one (1) black stone, which is used to determine who is to be the sacrifice. The divination must be willingly done – Linoge cannot simply take his successor – the successor must be given willingly (See Limitations).
  • Karma Interference: Linoge seems to affect the situations he’s part of – whether it is to create terrible situations and make them worse or to interfere with solid attempts to stop him. It is possible due to Linoge’s nature and his abilities Linoge prevents the use of Karma in efforts that are directly against him. As such, Karma may not be used when dealing with Linoge directly or in opposition of Linoge’s activities.

Contacts:
Linoge has no contacts save his successor.

Limitations:
Andre Linoge is powerful, but suffers many limitations to his power
  • Limited Time: As stated with his Longevity, Linoge has limited time to find his successor and begin the instruction – Linoge’s powers are tied to his ability to find his successor and interference could result in severe consequence, a fact that Linoge states openly and ensures his willingness to kill anyone who gets in his way. Linoge’s limited time forces Linoge to enact terrible and dangerous events that are bound by a period – say the course of a massive storm. What could happen to Linoge if he fails is unknown but is considered dire.
  • Acceptance: Linoge simply cannot take an apprentice – the apprentice must be given willingly from the community which in itself is a big deal – Linoge’s powers and the acceptance of them seem drawn equally from his own experience and equally from what the community Linoge is pursuing are willing to do. Make no mistake, Linoge will destroy a community if not given what he desires, but it does him no good as it will move his own clock forward – the sacrifice must be made willingly by the community of the apprentice.
  • Enemies: At least in the course of actions after Little Tree and the revelation to its former sheriff, it can be assumed that Mike Anderson is an enemy of Linoge and may pursue him. Linoge may have other enemies in similar situations from over the centuries.
  • Relentless and Merciless: Linoge has no qualms about murdering entire towns to gain his goals and will do so at provocation or denial.
  • Reduction of FASE: Once Linoge has found his apprentice and confers his abilities upon them Linoge ages suddenly to an old man – as such Linoge’s FASE decreases up to -2cs across the board.
