I wish I had noticed this question back when you first made the thread.

Mephista's first appearance was in Doctor Strange: Sorcerer Supreme #6 (August, 1989)

Also, I wanted to point out that the Appendix has two different entries on the Von Frankenstein family tree through the ages, it could be important when you reach your Monster of Frankenstein entry.

One world of adventure is never enough.

Mephista's appearance has changed since her appearance in Dr. Strange.

She was featured in the X-Factor comic with Jamie Madrox & Layla Miller's mutant detective group as black-winged woman with fewer horns and using the name Jezebelle.

Don't forget Mephisto's other daughter, Malevolence... or, I guess you could since she's actually part of Earth-691 continuity, timeline of the original Guardians of the Galaxy comic set in the 31st century.

I actually remember her far better than Mephista.

Well at least she's got the excuse that as a fairly powerful demon neither form we see is necessarily her true form, both could be the result of shapeshifting or the result of physical transformations from magical development to explain her changes due to changing artists. Unlike with Hepzibah after she was completely replaced with what amounts to a totally different character that we're supposed to treat like the original.

Kind of like how Tigra's stripes change depending on who draws her?

Or how her fingers can look like fairly normal fingers with sharp nails, thick fingers with claws, or truly bestial fingers?

And let's not forget sometimes furry wrists and ankles...
