DESCRIPTION: Gordon is a tall, lean, and well developed young man with a healthy tan who dresses almost exclusively in recycled clothing and materials. His costume is full coverage from head to toe and constructed in flashy colors, mainly his favorite color of bright green, with a yellow sunburst on the chest, red boots and gloves, and a easily-detachable red cape.

Gordon has some low-level contacts with various environmental groups and pro-Earth organizations, although others of a more radical bent sneer at his more balanced approach and trouble him from time to time. As Starfox he’s met and fought beside Captain America against radical environmentalists engaging in terrorist acts and had the opportunity to meet the rest of the Avengers afterwards. He was also fascinated by the solar-energy technology involved in powering the Vision.
POWERS
Solar Energy Absorption: Starfox automatically and continuously absorbs and stores sunlight with Monstrous ability. This provides him with the following powers and abilities:
-Unleash solar energy bursts from his hands or eyes capable of inflicting up to Amazing energy damage to a range of 20 areas.
-Flight at Incredible air speeds in an atmosphere and Shift Y speeds in space.
-Self-Sustenance: Due to his absorption of solar energy Starfox doesn’t require air, water, or food as long as he retains his energy reserves.
-The solar energy infusing his cells results in a personal force field of Incredible intensity projecting an inch from his skin that grants him Incredible protection from Physical and Energy attacks that also applies to whatever he’s wearing that’s within an inch of his skin. This protection is sufficient to allow him to survive in space unaided.
-Because his body’s infused with solar energy his very touch inflicts Incredible damage on anything harmed by exposure to solar energy (like vampires).
-As long as he’s in sunlight or has sufficient energy reserves to do so Starfox regains lost health at a rate of one endurance rank per hour instead of per day as is normal.
-Because his body is so adapted for absorbing solar energy and light in general light-based attacks below Unearthly rank are ineffective against him and he cannot be blinded by any intensity of light.
Hyper-Invention (Solar Energy Technology): In regards to any and all technology for the manipulation, use, storage, and other purposes of solar energy Starfox has a Remarkable increase to his Reason and may enjoy a 2CS decrease in the final resource cost for creating any technologies within this field.
WEAKNESS(ES)
When deprived of sunlight (a cloudy day isn’t enough) Starfox becomes limited to his internal energy reserves, which function at Power Rank Number Times Ten for his currently stored totals (so effectively has 750 points of stored energy when initially deprived). This means the use of any of his solar-powered abilities depletes him based on the rank number of the power used. Certain naturally functioning abilities like the Force Field require it to be stopping an attack before draining off energy, and the self-sustenance depletes the reserves at a rate of one point per turn. Once restored to the sun’s revitalizing rays he regains energy at a rate of 1 point per turn until fully recharged. When fully depleted he also suffers a 1CS drop to his FASE and subsequent drop in health (130).
EQUIPMENT
Artificial Sun Lamps: Scattered around his home and headquarters are an array of special lamps designed to simulate natural sunlight, adjustable anywhere from Feeble intensity all the way up to Monstrous intensity so that he may retain his full powers while at night or otherwise cut off from the sun.
HISTORY
Born the black sheep of the Jeffries family Gordon grew up rejecting much of his family’s material ways after a chance speech at his school by former president Jimmy Carter inspired him to make a difference and do his part to save the environment. As he grew up this obsession with the environment led him to devote himself to being as self-sufficient as possible and learning how to recycle and reuse existing materials, enough so that he started up his own recycling company Envirotech to recycle anything he possibly could.
Being one to do much of the work himself he’d been going through some of the material that had come in, including some junk that unbeknownst to him was never meant to be disposed of in such a fashion. Leftover from a solar energy project associated with Roxxon corporation in the use various photoreactive chemicals and genetically engineered life forms contained in transparent canisters. When breaching the canisters he found himself covered in the contents which quickly seeped into his body, merging with him and becoming an inherent part of his body over the next few days.
His first revelation something was different was the growing feeling of energy and life within him although he dismissed that at first, and simply felt his growing strength a result of his general exercise and focus on his diet. This feeling was dashed though when a pile of scrap metal awaiting recycling cascaded down onto him only to leave him unscathed due to the personal force field that had developed and learned how much he had really grown in strength in working himself free.
Some practice out of sight of others eventually gave him a rough idea of what he’d become capable of and he was intelligent enough to catch onto the idea that he ran on sunlight which he felt fitting as it meant he was totally non-polluting in the use of his powers. His newfound abilities would let him go beyond what he was already doing for the planet, fighting the evils directly where possible and illuminating the shadows to reveal the despoilers and inspire people to change their polluting and harmful ways.
