OK, been away for a while (actually, only away from posting. I've tried to follow the threads). Here's my latest idea for a chatacter. I've got a rough draft of the stats, and I've begun to write the background. For now, Here's a pic from HeroMachine:

Dr. Russell Saxon, aka "Doc Saxon", "The Saxon"

So... how about some comments? I have a rough draft of his abilities, but nothing set in stone yet. What does the image say to you?

All right, here is the good stuff. The stats and background for this guy. It came out longer than expected; I can't seem to make simple characters, one-dimensional characters just aren't my style

Identity: (the) Saxon
Real name: Dr. Russell Saxon
Group: unaffiliated
Origen of Powers: mystical transformation
Citizenship: citizen of the UK
Occupation: Physicist, professor (currently on sabbatical), explorer

Appearance: Even before the transformation, Dr. Saxon was a bear of a man, with a tall, sturdy build more at home in the private security field than a laboratory. After the transformation, quite a few who don't know his background assume his Mr.Olympia class build is a result of severe steroid abuse. Nobody says anything to his face however; the glare from his cold, blue eyes is enough to dissuade even the most reckless joker.

Height: 6'3 1/2"
Weight:425lbs.
Hair color: blond
Eye color: blue
Age: 38

Fighting: EX (16)
Agility: EX (16)
Strength: RM(32)
Endurance: IN(36)
Reason: EX (16)
Intuition: IN(36)
Psyche: RM(30)

Health: 100
Karma: 82

Resources: TY(5) (stipend from the Imperial College)
Popularity: 0 (unknown to the general public)

Talents:
Physics, Chemistry, Electronics: Dr. Russell Saxon is an experienced physicist and chemist, in addition to an extensive background in the field of electronics. He has co-authored papers with Reed Richards.Although his name is rather toxic in the world of academia, he is nevertheless recognized as an authority on energy generation and manipulation even without his powers.Furthermore, Dr. Saxon has a degree of familiarity with Asgardian lore and magic. Unfortunately, this knowledge is very superficial: his abduction by Loki and the limitatons of his own scientific bias means that he never fully comprehended the knowledge he had access to nor accomplished the cognitive leap required to actually wield magic.

Contacts:
(one to be decided at a future date)
Dr. Saxon's name is well known in several circles, but not necessarily positively. His name is a magnet for controversy among the academia due to his refusal to bow to political correctness. Among the super-powered community things are somewhat more productive: his occasional work with Excalibur has been good, but there are no indications that he will be asked to join. Likewise, he has maintained sporadic contact with Dr. Strange and Reed Richards, although this is more of an academic nature and all contact with both is strictly business.
Despite what some have believed, Saxon does not have any real contact with Asgard. After he was dumped uncermoniously in Manhatten, he has not been contacted by Karnilla (or Loki, for that matter). The hammer-shaped medallion that he wears seems to be a token of esteem among asgardians, and is given when one proves himself worthy. In and of itself the amulet has no special properties, other than being made on asgard (GM's note: the amulet doesn't do anything at all. It is, however, made of Unearthly material strength metals. Any Asgardian will immediately recognize it as a sign of valor). While it is unknown if Karnilla will ever call upon him again, it need not be mentioned that Loki will never forget Dr. Saxon. The unusual nature of his enhancemets strongly suggests the involvement of the dwarves of Nidavellir but so far no one has stepped up to shed light on the matter. During his time adventuring, Saxon entered Nidavellir but never encountered any dwarves, only Rock Trolls.

Powers:
Compound Physiology: Dr. Saxon is best described as a magical cyborg. Dr. Strange, as both a sorceror and as a medical practicioner, marveled at the sophistication of his enhancements. Unusual for Asgardian magic, Saxon's enhancements show a level of detail that is almost more technological than magical. His muscles have been supplemented with synthetic fibers that duplicate normal muscle fibers in almost every way except for an extremely high tensile strength. His bones have been almost completely replaced with a lattice of metal braid, consisting of URU and Asgardian alloys. These alloys are commonly used in Asgardian weaponry, and along with the URU suggest that his skeleton was created at Nidavellir. The URU by itself calls attention: although only five percent of his skeleton consists of the legendary metal this quantity represents nearly 99% of all the URU extant in the ten realms outside of Nidavellir. Combined with the rest of the embedded metal Saxon has an Unearthly material strength of his skeleton which also grants a reduction of -1CS to all physical damage. In addition, his new enhanced frame can comfortably press two tons and continue to do so for extended periods of time. The main motive of the skeletal enhancement is not reinforcement (although it certainly does that), but the URU acts to turn his entire skeleton into a massive antenna for his powers of energy manipulation.
Apart from the modifications to his frame, Saxon has had other modifications. The marrow in his bones has been altered, and now produces blood based on iridium instead of iron. This results in blood that is a dull amber when deoxygenated ( i.e. in the veins) and a bright yellow when oxygenated ( in the arteries). Dr. Strange, upon seeing this, joked that Dr. Saxon has mustard in his veins. Apart from enhacing the oxygenation of his system, the inherent photoreactivity of iridium enhances his body's receptivity to the EM spectrum (see below formore details).

Energy Vampirism UN(98): Originally Saxon has the ability to absorb energy like a Sponge and channel it around, but Loki's curse has turned it into outright vampirism. Now the Doctor needs to absorb anergies to survive. He can still absorb nearly any source but can only channel it into his own abilities. Conversely, with a sufficient source Saxon can become quite powerful but at the same time can be starved into a coma for lack of energy.
Limitations: His ability to siphon off any type of energy does not include kinetic or sonic energy forms.

Energy Conversion- Kinetic to Sonic IN(40): This power, a subset of the previous power, is the main cause of Saxon's unpopularity as a teammate. He converts kinetic energy into an acoustic wave. As a result Saxon is not affected by kinetic attacks, at least up to the power rank. This usually takes the form of a clap of thunder, the intensity is equal to the energy of the original kinetic energy or the power rank -1CS, whichever is the lesser. The result is a brawl turns into a series of thunderclaps at ground level. While this is a disaster for property values, it does end fights very quickly.

Sound Manipulation RM(30): Saxon has learned to direct his energy channeling abilities to control the acoustic waves themselves. He has Remarkable control over sound of any source. The most common application of this power is to redirect the acoustic wave produced by kinetic attacks to focus on a single opponent thus avoiding significant property damage. This power has also been of significant benefit to his research (frequency analysis, etc.), as well as protecting him against sonic damage.

Lung & Digestive adaptability, both TY(5): These are the strangest aspects of his transformation. Saxon can convert anything entering his system into the basic materials needed by the body. He has studided this extensively, but has not unlocked the process (because it is magic) other than noting that his body breaks the materials down to their fundamental components and reconstructs them into oxygen, vitamins, etc. This ability to subsist on literally anything was a trememdous boon as an explorer and adventurer. All materials, whether solids, liquids, or gases, are broken down and converted which also confers a +4CS resistance to toxins (they get broken down like everything else.). For example, this is why Saxon was not affected by the Purple Man's pheromone-based powers. Unfortunately this also means that he has virtually no sense of taste and a degraded sense of smell. Another note is that while this does mean that Saxon can effectively breathe water, he has no protection from the underwater dangers such as pressure at the ocean's depths, or the difficulties of vision and movement.

Weakness:
Energy Source: Hjarta Eyljós (Heart of Eternal Light): Saxon's Heart has been mystically removed and replaced with an enormous ruby (the size of his actual heart, in fact). This is the source of his power, and acts as both powerplant and battery for his powers. The enormous gem has a constant red glow that increases when he uses his powers. Dr. Saxon's own research has shown that when he uses his energy manipulation powers the energy is gathered by his skeleton (again, similar to a massive antenna) and stored in the ruby heart. Under normal circumstances the glow is not visible, but when he uses his powers the glow is visible through his skin, as well as most clothing. Saxon usually wears a heavy reinforced shirt to hide the glow. Worse, any energy detection powers will immediately detect this glow. Unless Dr.Saxon takes special effort to shield this he has the practical equivalent of a glowing bulleye on his chest. Apparently this is another aspect of Loki's curse on the scientist.

Background:
Dr. Russell Saxon was a british physicist who had worked at CERN on several research projects before accepting a position at the Imperial College London to pursue his own reseach. He clashed frequently with department heads due to his independent streak, and held his post solely through the success of his research. A scientist to the core, his investigations had led him to identify what seemed to be interdimensional nexus points. His colleagues scoffed at the idea, usually dismissing the whole thing as "finding the door to Narnia," but none were able to refute his evidence. Further investigation led Saxon to map out a series of junctions across the British Isles. At one point he co-authored a paper with Reed Richards- Mr. Fantastic of the Fantastic Four- on the possibility of a network of such dimensional access points. While this recieved no attention at all among the general public it did bring him notoriety in academia which was not at all keen on the topic. Even so, Dr. Saxon stubbornly pursued his research focusing on vibrational frequencies as a way of mapping possible dimensional access points.
One day, while Dr. Saxon was on-site testing some sensors, he noticed a source of radiation without any visible source. He was unable to identify the type of radiation- it was mutlifrequency, which should not be possible- nor the source. It seemed to be simply appearing out of the blue. After localizing the apparent source, he cautiously approached and attempted to scan the area with more sophisticated equipment. As the sensor neared the area there was a sudden shimmering in the air and an enormous glowing ruby appeared out of nowhere. The light it emitted showed all the characteristics of Cherenkov radiation except that it was red not blue. Excited at the possibility of a major discovery Saxon let his enthusiasm overtake his judgement and began to probe the ruby itself. The instant the probe touched the gem there was a blinding flash of light. When his eyes cleared Dr. Saxon was in what to all the world looked like a medieval castle. In front of him was a small table with the ruby in some type of stand and a woman in an eloborate dress. Even without a single sound He could feel a powerful aura emanating from this strange lady.
To his shock, she smiled and introduced herself as Karnilla, the queen of Nornheim. She was impressed at his skill at piercing Loki's illusion and finding her property. Yes, she said as a slight wave of irritation briefly crossed her face, that Loki, brother to Thor Odinson of Midgard's Avengers. Loki had stolen the Heart of Eternal Light from her and hidden it for one of his many schemes against his brother. Your skill, she continued, at piercing his illusion has shown you to be someone of use to me. Dr. Saxon bristled at this, stating bluntly that he was a scientist and not an errand boy. Karnilla smiled at cooly replied that in truth he was an explorer and seeker of truth. And so she gave him her offer: find and return another item of hers that Loki had stolen and in exchange Karnilla would give him access to the knowledge and lore of Nornheim. A true scientist, Saxon readily accepted.
In order to succeed in his quest, the Sorceress said, he would need help. Karnilla proceeded to cast a spell upon Dr. Saxon. An eloborate enchantment, the ritual transformed much of Saxon's body in order that he survive the dangers ahead. With superhuman strength and resistance, as well as a degree of control over many energy sources, he thus began a journey that led the scientist/explorer across Asgard, Vanaheim, and Jotunheim, ending only in the mountains of Nidavellir nearly a year later. He would face and overcome an array of monsters, including trolls and frost giants in addition to more conventional foes, many of which were sent by Loki. The God of mischief still held a grudge against Saxon for foiling his earlier plans. Despite the trickster's interference, Saxon was able to find the artifact and return it to Karnilla. Upon his return the grateful queen gave him two things: a medallion shaped as a miniature hammer and a key, which opened the door to a vast vault filled wall to wall with books and scrolls.
Dr. Saxon eagerly and voraciously dove into what would be nearly two nonstop days of poring over tomes and scrolls looking to glean secrets and insights to the universe. Unfortunately he was doomed to disappointment. As the scientist laid out in his mind a schedule for deciding which tomes to focus on Loki appeared. Before Saxon could do anything the trickster laid a curse upon him, corrupting his ability to channel energy into a hunger. The trickster with a devilish laugh then launched him through a dimensional portal back into Midgard.
Whether due to sheer maliciousness or unfamiliarity of Earth (the latter far less likely than the former) Loki dumped Saxon into the middle of Manhattan. To compound matters, He appeared right in the middle of a battle between Spider-man and the Hobgoblin (which one was unknown). The Hobgoblin, seeing an oddly dressed man appear out of nowhere, immediately swerved in his direction and threw one of his pumpkin grenades. To his shock, Saxon caught it and ate it like an apple, completely neutralizing the grenade. As he veered in his direction in a rage, he got too close and Dr. Saxon drained the energy from his glider. The unlucky villain and his now powerless glider crashed into a car that just happened to be transporting Zebediah Killgrace, the Purple Man. The Hobgoblin had been knocked unconscious in the crash, and Killgrave did not want to caught up in the conflict, so he faced Saxon. To his detriment, Spiderman was close enough to have recorded the incident and it is rumored that he showed the video to some of the Avengers, who laughed themselves nearly to tears:
Killgrave (to Saxon): You look big enough and dumb enough, you'll do. I need a distraction. Go kill Spiderman.
Saxon (to Killgrave): Go @#$%& yourself
Killgrave: ...*? You big, dumb, blond ape! Go kill Spiderman!
Saxon: (*Punches Killgrave, laying him out on the floor with a shattered nose*)
Shortly thereafter, Saxon was visited by Dr. Strange, who took him to his Sanctum Sanctorum. There, Strange, listening to his story and attempting magical analysis, agreed to send him home. As Strange opened up a portal back to England, he advised Saxon to seek out Brian Braddock, the Capitain Britain. Strange claimed that his abilities could be a tremendous asset. Sceptical of the idea of being a superhero, Dr. Saxon returned to the Imperial College, There he discovered that the faculty had taken his disappearance in stride, and made no attempt to locate him during his nearly year-long absence. Relations with the faculty continue frosty but he has so far maintained his old position while he prepares a new line of research. In the meantime, Dr. Saxon has begun a side gig as a superhero, assisting the British team Excalibur from time to time. In general however, he is not fond of the superhero life, as it tends to leave little or no time for his research. The Imperial College has extended his sabbatical by another six months, clearly in an attempt to keep him away from the students. The practical result of this is that Saxon's future at this point is completely open-ended.

Personality:
On the one hand, Dr. Saxon is very typically british, with his highly educated accent and manners, especially when working. On the other, he has always had a loud and boisterous personality, quick to laugh and never afraid to speak his mind. Combined with his views on many topics, he has frequently found himself in hot water with authority figures, and not just at the university. Dr. Saxon holds a very conservative view of the world: in other times he would have been considered old-fashioned but in today's politically correct climate there is no place for views such as his. It is no exaggeration to say that he wears his self-confidence on his sleeve. Refusing to bow to political correctness has itself made him a lightning rod for all types of criticism and was directly responsible for the university sending him out on sabbatical. The general public, at least those very few who have heard of him, merely shrug it off as another crazy professor. The time spent in Asgard has, if anything, amplified some aspects of his personality: being alone in a strange land has reinforced a tendency face situations head on and without waiting for others. He has also become less of a team player. While not at all arrogant, Saxon tends to be brusque with those unable to keep up. As a superhero Saxon can be difficult to work with due to a combination of approaching every situation as a mathematical problem to be resolved with logic and objective metrics and an unyielding faith in his own abilities.

*quick edit* forgot to mention that I created this character using "With great power..." system, 400CP in total

Editing posts is something that can be done earlier on, allowing one to correct errors in the short term.
After that time (not sure the exact amount of time), only moderators/admins can edit posts.

Actually, I think it's kind of a good thing that promotes additional content. You may have wished to replace the
original image, but I like seeing the progression of development of your ideas, including the addition of updated art.

A high post count is indicative of little more than one having the time to post frequently.
It does not mean a person is more knowledgeable on any given topic than anyone else.

I agree. I wasn't complaining about not being able to edit posts, just that I forgot to take it account
