A World Without Heroes, Is A World Without Hope! © 2001, 2024
#1 of 2 issues featuring comic adaptation of Avengers: Age of Ultron is out this Wednesday, right in time for Christmas.
I'm not reading mine until after the movie this spring

Wolverine is dead. Covered in adamantium, never to come back, done, done, done (not really, of course). So what does Marvel pull out of their back pocket? a weekly for $3.99, that's what.

Jingubashi in Tokyo was fun. I liked all the incredible, hand made costumes on the teenagers.
Then you go to a Con in America and see the fat 40 year pedophiles dressed like Sailor Moon.
That isn't helping anyone.

In one group we had a minimum of 10pts spent when karma was used and we had a "as much as it takes to make a red" option, so people didn't die on a bad guess. Failing to do your action when you declared to low a number was a different story. This was often humorous and occasionally frustrating.
We did look at a chart.
The Judge's rolls were never seen, so you didn't know how close the villains w

I'm liking this thread because people are discussing stuff I have thought of.
I have always thought of invisibility as being undetectable by the naked eye, which is great until you walk through oil and leave foot prints or have paint spilled on you, or cast a shadow (which is probably impossible because of some light bending science stuff). So I figure it's effect is making the person or thing i

There should be an automatic, complete karma loss for fighting Santa.

Tick is hard to hurt.
Even though he is not very smart, it wouldn't take him long to figure out he is fighting a good guy and stop.
That would count as a "win win" situation.
Teen Titan comic or Toon?
Since Tick and TTR are cartoons, they could go at it for awhile, with violently humorous implications..

That should go without saying, nothing is 100% and there are a lot of variables. I said something like that a bunch of years ago when describing how Iron Man vs Hulk COULD turn out, and someone said something to the effect, the argument was about testing straight stats and not actual game play... which is irrelevant once you roll the dice and involve chance. Every test or every game is going to b

The reason the is a good discussion is there is a ton of information, some widely different, and decades worth of experience to cite, regarding who wins.Nobody would have 10 and 0.
Spiderman beats everybody once. At the least the comics showed that for a good period of time, when he was shown fighting way out of his depth. It annoyed me as a reader at the time, as I was perfectly happy with Spid

" Be the villain they need, not the one they want."
lol, I find that funny but there is a lot of truth in it. Good villains make good games.
Tactics are also super important, the bad guy who blasts out the elevated train tracks and suddenly makes the heroes have to stop the 615 express and save the commuters, is a more challenging bad guy, than the one who stands in the street and trades blows.

I have to say, when I started this thread I did it for one reason: This forum doesn't suck, we are not a bunch of a-hole fanboy comic nerds, who hate each other and prove we are able to discuss a historically divisive topic in a civil fashion, and not drive off new people who want to talk about comic books and this awesome superhero game. And have FUN, don't forget we actually have fun coming h

I guess you'd have to compare the different elements like:
Armed: Batman's devices vs Cap's shield = I think Bats, he is like Barbie, he has everything.
Comic: Cap is the best hand to hand combatant in the World (Marv) vs Batman who is the best hand to hand combatant in the World (DC). DC's "World" is getting smaller, do to the company continually throwing itself down elevator shafts, so Cap ta

Just rely on your players to use their powers in a fair and balanced way.
If no, instead of killing their character, make them GM. Put them through it.
and we don't argue with everyone on here, all the time. Some people like to see themselves type.
NOW, I think Batman would beat Captain America in a fist fight. Discuss.

I never put them in the room with the mastermind the first time around.
The have a bad guy, doing something bad and they have to stop him/her. Hopefully they survive the fight. If they win, they discover there is someone else behind the scenes.
The schemer is the real danger, but they might have to fight their way through several formidable villains to get to him.

I use real profanity on here, but I don't think I could use enough.
Fox basically just said they are going to throw $100m down a hole with this film.
When they get the rights back, the Fantastic Four film Marvel makes will be the Citizen Kane/2001 Space Odyssey of comic book films.

Sheldon of Amazing Spiral sent me this list and I am excited to see the new John Carter Warlord of Mars. I've been a fan of this Edgar Rice Bourroughs story since I was a kid and there have been some truly awesome JC comics... and some less successful stuff, including that movie that stumbled pretty hard.
Well Ron Marz is at the helm of this attempt, with art by Abhishek Malsuni and Neeraj Menon,

Since Halloween is coming up, I figured I would ask: what was the scariest marvel game you played?
I came up with one where a lunatic villain tainted illegal drugs in all the major cities on the east cast with a mutigenetic chemical, that turned drug users into homicidal lunatics.
His goal was profit and mass chaos, as he planned to hold the cities hostage for millions of dollars, each. He als

60's, 70's (mostly) and 80's. I bought trades for a 70's story line, two 80's story lines and one from the 90's this past year, but that isn't normal for me. I do it mostly to replace some of the comics I remember and to remind me of the stories I forgot.
I'd rather play this game set in 1984 or 1975. The MU was much better, more manageable, better villains, fewer characters. Also a different ch

Imagine the storyline being something like: Stark is lead into a scheme that focuses on his concern for alien and superhuman threats, he is encouraged to go to far and comes into conflict with Cap, the registration goes poorly, fights happen and Iron Man fights Captain America. After that is resolved, Tony figures out he has been lead astray and gone to far. Together they root out and defeat the

Still digging it.
I watch Shield, American Horror and the Strain (which finished it's first season and won't be back till 2015). Aside from random episodes of Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares, that is it, so Gotham fits perfectly in for me.
I fell out of love with Arrow but I might try the Flash.
