I know for my part, I've been working on finalizing my Marvel Super Hero - Expanded (MSH-X) edition. I've posted before where I've tweaked a few rules, but now I've taken those rule tweaks and have written a full Players Handbook that combines the Advanced Rules, my tweaks, and the Ultimate Powers Book. I'm not done, but I'm getting to milestone of completing the written text. Next will be to

Recently, I've started to dust off my work on Earth-7642. I had revised the Earth-7642 United States and started to look at giving some definition to its politics. While I don't want to go into huge political issues in my Super Hero gaming, I also wanted to avoid using real life politicians and using real life political parties (avoiding Democrats vs Republican issues). So I thought about the

I hope people will be able to try out the use of Sorcery skill and the spells in the book and let me know how it worked for their campaign.

…But the Advanced Players Book did add to the rules governing the use of Personal, Universal, and Extra-dimensional energy magics, and these do change the game a bit. For example, personal energy spells can only affect the self or willing targets and they actually drain your character's Health (1 point per round of use) and as magic wielding characters tend to be glass cannons,

I posted this in another post of mine in General Chat, but I figure I should do it here as well. This is the 90%-ish finished Earth-7642 Magic Sourcebook:

Well, I had done a lot of work on this and then....nothing. You would have thought will all that down time during the Pandemic Lockdowns that I would have done more with a lot of the projects I had going on. Well, sadly I didn't do much of anything.
So this is the almost done Earth-7642 Magic Sourcebook that combines the world of Marvel, DC, Harry Potter, D&D, and other magic sources into

Karma value/rewards are stingy if you follow the rule books. Highest Primary stat or highest power rank is the Karma reward? It is no wonder players never have Karma outside their Judges handing out small gifts of Karma like Halloween candy now and then.
What system or formula do people use to value reward? A villain like Dr. Doom, IMO, should have much more Karma value then someone like the Ab

I have turned around on this movie since seeing this trailer. I'm very excited about it. Sparkly vampire is no more, thank goodness.

A long time ago (14 years to be exact) this topic was posted on the original forums. In that time many things have changed. Comic characters changed or got revamped, movies changed our perspectives on certain characters, and so on. So let’s take a look at how these battles might go today. And to answer the question “which version of character X?” you can pick either the current iteration or the o

Ugh, I can’t seem to purge that original image of my modified roll chat (I misspelled Monsterous if you look closely) from the web.
One thing I wanted to do with the Blue ranks is to have them end at some point. Some systems have crit fumbles all the way to their SH-Z equivalents, but that always seemed silly to me. I wanted “mere mortals” like us to have the chance of really goofing up (probabl

This is the Thing entry I had created when I was working on making MSH-X version of the Handbook.

The Thing Strength stat issue is exactly why I had created the Wondrous (WN (90)) rank in my MSH-X series. I always felt that AM and MN was too large (by the % span they represent) and vague and needed to be better defined. As an example, I hate how Spider-man can, on a Red FEAT, lift up to 50 tons (AM strength). I love Spidey but there is no way he can lift that much, even in dramatic moments. I

I've been playing around with the roll chart in order to a bit more of a comic level zone for characters. Just as I did with dividing Am and Mn to create a more balanced (in my mind) power progression by adding Fantastic (FN 60), Spectacular (Sp 70), and Wondrous (Wn 90), I've done the same with Shift X through Z.
It started out by my asking myself "why are there roll results for Class 5000 o

I had always treated the power that the character starts out emitting/controlling one specific wavelength, let’s say X-rays for example. Power stunt can be for controlling/generating other wavelengths (gamma, microwaves, etc.) and other effects these wavelengths can produce.
Some other possible power stunts could be: a “hardening” of energy to create a Force attack; developing Energy Detection p

A Mana Foci is a quasi-sentient magical instrument through which a Magic Wielder channels her or his magical powers (Mana) to centralize the effects for more complex results. The greatest advantage of a Mana Foci is that it can replace the Material Component of a spell. Some spells, such as Magic Jar or Clone, still require the Material Component, as it is critical to the function of the spell.

So this is the creation of a new Origin for MSH that I am presenting in my Earth-7642 Magic sourcebook: The Magic Wielder (Homo Magi).
So rolling Primary stats for Homo Magi is done on Column 2 - Normal Humans. Homo Magi then gets +1CS to Endurance and +3 to Psyche stats.
Homo Magi then roll to see what magical energies (mana) they can control. They roll on the following chart:

So I've been working on a few supplements on what I started with my Earth-7642 (Crossover Earth) campaign setting. One of the new supplements that I've been starting work on is focused on Magic and the Magical world. This sourcebook focuses on merging DC, Marvel, Harry Potter, and other magical worlds/rules into a combined, cohesive set of history and rules.
One of the things I wanted to do in

You could do whatever you wish. Since the gorgon’s gaze is a type of mystical psionic attack, with a physical result/consequence, then I think it would be fair to allow a Psyche FEAT roll. If it was a more scientific molecular conversion type attack then an Endurance FEAT would be more appropriate.
As for your second question, it is whatever makes sense in you campaign world. Maybe artificial

Alright, so do people like this Campagin handbook for Earth-7642? Should I keep going with this and make it a full Sourcebook with more details like the TSR’s New York box set? Or is this good enough for the general world and finish up the other Earth-7642 books (Anti-Matter Universe, Arachos Sourcebook, 2099 Dystopia, World of Magic) I was working on?
Was there something lacking in the book? T

Since most people don’t use the MSH-X rules, or run a villain theme campaign, here is a PDF version without the custom rules section.

This is the Campaign Setting Handbook I use for my Earth-7642 campaign. The theme of this handbook is for a villain campaign, so the first part of the handbook focuses on modified MSH rules. Yes, I also used an expanded Universal table and new abilities.
Anyways, I tried to create a world that is familiar to comic book fans (DC fictional cities). I've made some small (and some not so small) c

Pardon me for asking but is this still a thing in progress? Or has it since been abandoned?
I did finish this to a certain extent, but never got much feedback so I just didn’t post anything further. I created a Sourcebook for Earth-7642, a Paragon City Sourcebook, Arachnos Sourcebook, 2099 Dystopia Sourcebook (combines Judge Dredd, Marvel 2099, and a few others), and an Anti-Matter

You could give Pym the M14/Hyper-Invention power, maybe even M13/Hyper-Intelligence.
Overall, I think Pym is victim of writing inconsistency. A character that is 70+ years old is going to go through ups and downs in power levels and other talents with different writers.

The easiest way is that this character is counter balancing a great evil that has entered the world/reality. That way, he can be more consistent instead of suffering mood swings. A bit like the Sentry and Void, but as separate entities.

As for the item(s) itself, might I suggest the ring Andvaranaut. This is the ring (and belt) that Siegfried took from Brünhild in a most truly F-ed up story. Really, if you have never read any of the Siegfried epic poems, get ready for some messed up s**t.
The ring and belt seemed to give her great strength and warrior prowess. In game terms you could make the ring less effective without the be

The Ringer, in his full glory. This was the first comic I had seen him in:
I think his wife (when he was dead) took up the Ringer armor and then I think she became the next Beetle...before she died as well. Basically he and everyone involved around him dies a sad death.
