A World Without Heroes, Is A World Without Hope! © 2001, 2024
I remember when they announced WildStorm was going to be folded into the DCU, with Martian Manhunter on The Authority, and Hellspont doing... something, and.... and that's about it. They never really did much with the concept. I can't fault them for wanting to re-separate them again.

Ooh, nice!
I saw this film a few weeks ago at a local theatre, as part of a double feature. They paired it with 1944's Laura.

An idea for the "With Great Power" Character Point System: Arrays/Multipowers (i.e., a slightly different version of Power Stunts), as seen in Champions/the HERO System and Mutants & Masterminds.
Sometimes a character will have two or more powers that draw from the same source, or are different manifestations of the same power, and using one means the others are locked out. Examples would b

It seems that 5-10 minutes after making a post, you can no longer edit it. Is this something that can be changed?
Also, is it possible to link to specific posts within a thread? If it's not possible now, could that option be made available?

At the end of Civil War II, Steve Rogers, Red Skull, and Kobik are cornered.
Kobik explodes, Red Skull's caught (or killed, or escapes, whatever), Steve's "retcon" into being a secret HYDRA Agent all his life was seemingly undone and he's back to his old self.
Except it wasn't... and many of the assembled heroes who were there at the final battle were also retcon'd by the exploding Kobik into b

Wonder Woman was based entirely upon two bisexual women with whom her creator was in a poly relationship. And the Golden Age Wonder Woman stories were SO FULL of blatant Sapphic subtext that it’d be harder to point to issues that didn't have an obvious theme of “The Amazons are a magical island paradise of kinky lesbians."
She's been queer from the start, but now they're actually explicitly say

I got to see this at a local theatre last January, as part of a double feature. It was paired with 1982's The Thing. Good times.

Very cool!
The one thing I kinda wish the show had kept is the the book!Strigoi are mute. The transformation renders them incapable of speech -- their lungs become part of the stinger -- and the ones who do talk are actually using telepathy + a sort of "reverse ventriloquism," moving their lips and tongue to make it appear like they're speaking. I was especially hoping to see this in the scene

SCIENCE!: Radiation Powers
Comics Examples: Blight, Captain Atom, Cyclotron, Fallout, Firestorm, Presence, Radioactive Man (both Marvel's and the one from The Simpsons), X-Ray. In addition, many characters -- Daredevil, the Fantastic Four, the Hulk, and Spider-Man -- received their powers from exposure to radiation, and so may be susceptible to having their powers further altered by radiation.

My guess is Marvel Studio's Execs figured "no, no, we're really advanced tech-using aliens from another " Asgardians would be an easier sell than "yeah, we're actually magic gods," perhaps thinking that just sci-fi would be easier for an audience -- not just the comics-reading fans, but all moviegoers -- to accept than both sci-fi and fantasy.

Fun Fact: when Clancy Brown initially did his audition for Superman: The Animated Series, it was for the role of Clark Kent/Superman! But then someone -- not sure if it was Brown himself or someone else -- realized he'd make a much better Luthor.

The title of the comic was simply S.H.I.E.L.D. (the third volume/iteration of a comic with that tile, for those keeping track). It ran for 12 issues, from Feb 2015-Jan 2016, then was continued in a comic titled Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which started March 2016 and is still ongoing.
Here are some scans:

Is anyone reading the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. comic? It's very much like the show, except set in the 616 MU, and is free to include all the wild and wonderful things the show can't (due to things like limited special effects budget). It's had some fun bits, like one agent who was part of their magic research division, who after an magical accident had his head turned into an owl's head. He'd ve

Just remembered another thing about these shows that irk me: how they treated Jennifer Walters in Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.. In this show, once she became She-Hulk, she became a stunt pilot, because she couldn't get any other work. Some time later they did mention her past legal career, so that wasn't completely erased from her, but still!
Also, Seth Green as Rick Jones/A-Bomb, but...
