Just saw the movie today. I liked it, great action , some witty dialouge, but like the first Cap movie better. If you haven't seen the movie yet stop reading my post now.
Ok, if you're still reading, I presume that is Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch being held by Baron Von Strucker. I haven't read too many of the other posts yet under this topic because I wanted to know as little about the movie

We will find out soon! But not soon enough...o God I love that show!!! I can't sleep thinking about what is going to happen next!~!!
I like to watch each episode a second time, but on Slow Motion and play either the Avengers, Captain America, or Iron Man soundtracks.
It's my porn.

Yes if Stealth is taken as a Power from the Ultimate Powers Book (it's not the Ultimate Talents Book) then any physical tracking power or talent loses a number of ranks equal to each rank of Stealth. That is how I rule that power. Note the character with Stealth doesn't roll to avoid detection; the detection talent or power's rank is reduced. Stealth is written like T.I. .

OK...I finally watched the most recent episodes. I am always a few days behind catching up on my DVR.
I loved the opening of Garrett's jet flying to the tune of Don't Fear the Reaper. And I love that Garrett has turned out to be such a fantastic arch villain. He is interesting...funny, unpredictible.
Regarding Grant, the fact that Hand ordered him to execute Garrett proves it's a set up. I do

I think of areas on the game map, whether an official published map or a homegrown, as panels in comic book.
If you are using hexes, squares, or a ruler to measure scaled distance then your game is more tabletop tactical simulation in lieu of fast and loose area movement. That of course is fine, I mean most of us cut our teeth on rpgs where 1" =5' or 10' so when you open up the MSH rulebook an

Does anyone recall if when The Ultimates comic came out, if anyone's feathers got ruffled/got their panties in a twist/their eyes rolled in their sockets while steam came out their ears/etc., when Nick Fury was changed to a bald headed black man?

Life Creation? Is her Ice Powers comparable to the Phoenix Force, but limited to winter conditions? To change all of Summer into Winter within , what , at least 100 miles? I doubt the Disney folks did a writeup of the range of her powers, however, as long as she is alive, whatever she creates/causes is "p

I saw this movie a couple of days ago. Great movie (IMO). Has anyone else at this site seen it too? Is the Queen's power Reality Alteration with the restriction Ice and Snow only?

I am glad that you have done this. My understanding is that the inspiration for most of the powers in the SAGA rulebook are taken from the UPB. Kenson (?) made good use of defining stunts that could be used with many of the powers.

I like this TV show. I have a question, however. Was the death of the two SHIELD agents at the base justified to save the life of Skye?
Were they "bad agents"?
I loved Mai opening up a can of whoop-ass on Quinn. I loved the appearance of Lorelei. Feel bad for the newlyweds. What was the Doc Strange reference?

All I know is that my daughter is crazy for the Flash ever since she was a little girl and saw the episode where Flash races Superman for charity "Man of Steel, feet of lead!"---Flash commenting on Supe's chances to beat him in the foot race around the world.

Ha-ha! Funni !. Maybe fear of rolling a White result if you don't have or want to spend karma on the Evade FEAT.

Frankly, I am hard-pressed to think of how often a PC does Evade. I don't think I ever have my villains Evade. My players like to Dodge because they can still attack/take an action whereas with Evade that is your only action. Perhaps that is why. I think that one time when a PC was getting wallopped in a fight I remined her of the Evade option. She did so relucntantly and succeeded. It kept her c

I read somewhere in some article a couple of years ago that DC storylines attract fans who are more Science Fiction lovers than Marvel storylines attract. I don't know what that means as the statement was not elaborated upon.
Did anyone else read what I am referring too?

Chronomancer posted "So then it begs the question, do we really need both dogee and evasion? Or can we as a game get away with only one of them?"
The Evade tactic was introduced with the Advanced and was held onto with Basic 5 years later. I think of it as a "Super Saving Throw or Roll" because regardless of the defending character's Fighting ability and more importantly regardless of how skille

I mean, I appreciate the thought and the detail of some of the more intricate initiative rules that different games present.
I think the more complex the intiative rules are , ironically, the slower the actual play can be. But to each his own.
Hey, wasn't this topic originally about Evasion?
and yes, Chronomancer, I agree. Pound for pound MSH fits the bill for a supers game.

Agreed. 3.0 was a great improvement.
FYI: in 2nd Edtion AD&D, for iniative each player rolled a d10 and added the weapon speed factor (or cast time). I think ranged weapons were given speed factors as were the monsters. The lower result was the better result. So my fighter's long sword (wsf 5) v. a troll using his claws (wsf 6 ?) and I roll a 6 on my d10 and the DM rolls a 10....I win initia

The Basic Set from the 1980's (the first Red Box).
Something like this:
Player rolls d6, DM rolls d6
Initiative winner Magic and missiles
Initaitve winner Melee
Initiative loser Magic and missiles (if not killed by initiative winner)
Initiative loser Melee (if not killed by initiative winnner)
Regarding Advanced D&D, heck yes....d6 v. d6.

You are correct laowai. Now find a DM, other than yourself, who actually played the game that way. I am being serious, not a smartass.
The first time I played D&D the DM had one player roll a d6 and he rolled his d6. Highest won the initiative and then is was Spells and Ranged attacks got to got first then Melee an

Also, Doctor Octopus can generate a 50-mph wind by

I think that this is why that in most other tabletop rpg I can think of, everyone knows who has initivative BEFORE any actions are declared. It may be "innovative" to do it the way Grubb wrote it out, but, I never did it that way.
I roll a d10 and only one of the players rolls a d10. Highest side goes first. If the player's side has the initiative the order of action is highest Intuition to low

I don't use these rules for initiative, however, they worth looking at and here is the how the rulebooks present the steps:
From the Original Set (1984)
The Judge decides what the bad guys are doing. He doesn't tell anybody; he just remembers it for himself.
2. The good guys tell the Judge what they're doing that round.
3. The Judge and one player each roll a die. If the Judge rolls higher, the

As a Game Judge, here is my ruling.
Since you are playing the rules where declarations are made prior to initiative roll, Character A's choice should remain as is. He anticipated that his foe would melee attack. He should Evade. Character B is the one who should try to switch to a ranged attack because the Evade is useless. Otherwise, B is relying upon A to roll a White result for an Autohit.

Yes. The individual Game Judge can dictate Karma as he or she sees fit , adjusting it to the type of campaign they are running. I have surmized that Karma is a tool that the Game Judge can use to have some modicum of control over the heroes's actions.
