Had a lot of fun developing her. Took the Growth power to the logical extension of the ability to create or assimilate new atoms and fleshed it out while going with something you don't generally see in regards to the character not being human normal height and instead far smaller.

Survivor Character Sheet

Just realized I forgot to repost Survivor from the original forums so here she is!

Survivor

Super-hero ID: Survivor
Name: Marcia Lang
Power Category-Random Mutant
Origin of Super-Powers: Natural mutation
Appearance: Marcia is a young attractive Hispanic woman who’s slender form reveals nothing of her exceptional physical capabilities. When in costume she favors a bulkier outfit that helps to make her look several inches and a good 20 pounds heavier that conceals her every feature in order to disguise her identity. She’s constantly changing the outward appearance of the costume, with few constants outside of making it as flashy and distracting as possible in order to leave opponents too confused to identify her with ease outside of her costume. The only constant is the phoenix rising emblazoned on the chest.
Height: 5’ 4”
Weight: 112 lbs
Sex: Female
Age: 19

Fighting: Excellent (20)
Agility: Remarkable (30)
Strength: Excellent (20)
Endurance: Remarkable (30)
Reason: Excellent (20)
Intuition: Remarkable (30)
Psyche: Amazing (50)

Health: 100
Karma: 100
Resources: Typical
Popularity: S0/H0

POWERS

Evolution: Whenever Survivor is pushed to Zero Health, suffering the loss of Endurance ranks, or other traumatic shock her body undergoes beneficial evolutionary modification, such that whatever had brought her to that point; whether poison, physical punishment, energy attacks, or other more exotic forms of traumatic physical damage will bring about specific defenses or general physical improvement instead. It is possible that even such esoteric things as not being agile or smart enough to escape a traumatic situation will bring about growth in these areas as well. Each time such an event occurs she will increase by 1CS in the selected area, starting at Feeble rank when developing new powers or develop the power at the minimum rank it may be gained at if not improving an already existing power or FASERIP. Given the nature of this power the more she improves the less effective it becomes, as it takes greater and greater threats to trigger her evolutionary potential.

Body Resistance: By this point in her life Survivor has developed Good resistance to physical and energy attacks and as such is unaffected by minor damaging events.

Regeneration: Survivor has reached the point that she regenerates from damage with Good ability, recovering 10 times faster than a normal being and lost endurance ranks at a rate of one per hour.

Resistances (Toxins, Disease, Electricity): As a result of the standard things many people are exposed to growing up (fingers in light sockets, measles, etc) Survivor currently possesses Incredible resistance to the listed attack forms, and may develop others over time as well as improve these under the appropriate conditions.

Life Support: Survivor has developed at the present time Incredible resistance to hazardous environmental extremes, and may go up to 40 hrs without food, water, or air before suffering negative effects and possible evolutionary advancement.

Enhanced Skeleton: As a result of childhood injuries and the battle with the Sentinel Survivor’s bones have evolved to Incredible Material strength, as such attacks that might break bones must check against their Incredible material strength in order to succeed. In the event a bone might be broken it will heal at her current regeneration rate as these bones are a natural part of her skeleton (unlike say that of Wolverine).

Immortality: Survivor cannot truly die, as even the complete destruction of her body will simply bring about another adaptation that will cause it to regenerate at a new location if necessary, and eventually even evolve to the point that it will be impossible to fully destroy her physical form. At present she has no particular resistance to aging so is still aging normally, although at her death from old age she will simply regenerate into a more youthful form and acquire Feeble resistance to aging. The only means of ensuring her death is to totally negate her power of self-evolution and totally destroy her body before it can adapt.

LIMITATIONS

Since her primary power requires physical trauma of some sort in order to activate an opponent that avoids doing traumatic injury to her won’t trigger her evolutionary adaptability. Someone cluing in on her power could capture and restrain her in a fashion that doesn’t give her means to evolve to deal with it. She also hasn’t any particular resistance to pain and considering the painful conditions required to activate her power and her not being a masochist she’s not going to intentionally seek out deadly situations in order to evolve.

TALENTS

Agriculture; Ecology; Botany; Acrobatics; Gymnastics; Tumbling; Costuming; Performer (acting);

HISTORY

Some say that that which does not kill you makes you stronger, in Marcia’s case that is the literal truth.

Born two months premature to a drug-addicted mother Marcia seemed destined for a quick transfer from the confining barriers of her mother’s womb to the finality of a small cheap coffin in a potter’s grave like most other children born as she was, but she had something different going for her, as she was born a mutant.

It is said that traumatic events are most likely to trigger a mutant’s powers, and this was assuredly the case for Marcia, as the weak frail infant seemed to die only to rally time and again in the hospital incubator she was assigned to and come back stronger than before. She even earned the nickname the Miracle Baby, as she seemed to so miraculous to have survived what seemed like a certain death each time. In just a month she’d gone from being a lost cause to healthier than many full term infants, and found herself released into the uncertain world of Child Protective Services and the Welfare system with her mother.

As often happens in the under-funded and understaffed nature of government services intended for those who aren’t wealthy and don’t rate such protection in the first place Marcia slipped through the cracks as she bounced back and forth between her mother’s negligent care and the foster care system, surviving physical abuse and a number of events that would have killed a normal child but only encouraged her to grow up into an extremely healthy and physically fit female instead.

Weathering all those trials growing up (with a little help from her mutation) she turned her interest in nature into a scholarship in environmental studies and nature, and settled into college life with delight. Warm and outgoing she might have gone through her entire life without ever knowing her true nature if not for the fact that on a class field trip it brought her too close to the remains of a partially destroyed Sentinel.

Activated by the presence of a nearby mutant it tore itself free from the earth and set about tracking her down and eliminating her, but its damage was sufficient it couldn’t completely differentiate Marcia from the rest of the class and attacked indiscriminately to destroy the mutant presence. As everyone scattered the Sentinel eventually managed to sort out just where its target was and focused its attacks on Marcia.

Shocked at learning she was not only a mutant but also the target of a killer robot she yet managed to get herself under control and exploit the robot’s damaged status in order to destroy it by luring it into a water-filled abandoned rock quarry. Returning to her friends she passed it off as just some quick-witted thinking on her part and distracted everyone’s thinking with the suggestion the thing was so damaged it thought everyone was a mutant, not a difficult thing to believe, but inside she knew better.

She survived several attacks that she knew would have killed a normal human, and injuries she’d suffered during the conflict had faded too quickly for anyone lacking a super-human rate of healing. In just those few hours her life had changed irrevocably, for better or for worse she had no idea at the time. It seemed like after finding out she wasn’t normal circumstances thrust her into situations that forced her to risk injury or discovery in order to save others. It seemed as if reality was conspiring against her pushing her into the roll of a hero.

Left she felt with little choice she decided she’d survived so many other events in life that should have killed her that she could survive this as well. In fact she’d adopt that as her moniker, she’d be The Survivor!

CONTACTS

Marcia has no serious contacts in her secret ID outside of her circle of college friends but at least gets access to a place to crash or disappear in an emergency, or quick loans or gifts of money. In her heroic ID she has connections with the local campus police after helping deal with various criminal acts on the campus.

ENEMIES

Sentinels;

PERSONALITY

Marcia is a reluctant hero, feeling she’s being forced into the task because of the nature of her being born a mutant. While fun-loving and outgoing when out in her public identity she’s far more serious and uptight as a hero. She tries to be as different as possible in her two identities to keep from giving up clues that might connect one to the other.

Alibi Character Sheet
February 15, 2010 03:21PM

Alibi

Super-hero ID: Alibi
Name: Alibi
Power Category-Android
Appearance: In her normal human form Alibi is a stunningly attractive red-head with generous curves and ample bosom with a flair for dressing in the most disarmingly fashionable outfits possible.
Height: 5’ 6”
Weight: 132 lbs
Sex: Female
Age: 5 years since decanting, appears to be in her early-20s in her default/natural form.

Fighting: Excellent (20)
Agility: Excellent (20)
Strength: Excellent 20)
Endurance: Amazing (50)
Reason: Good (10)
Intuition: Remarkable (30)
Psyche: Unearthly (100)

Health: 110
Karma: 140
Resources: Remarkable or those of whoever she’s copying.
Popularity: 0

POWERS

Shape-shifting: Alibi has the CL1000 ability to perfectly duplicate any living being, from outward appearance to retinal patterns, DNA, and all other factors one might use to distinguish the original from Alibi. Her FASE will become equal to that of whomever she is copying or her own, depending on whichever is higher, with subsequent adjustments in health.

Power Duplication: Along with her ability to copy the outward appearance of an individual Alibi may copy any powers inherent to someone with CL1000 ability and at exactly the same rank as the original. The only powers that cannot be reproduced are those of a mechanical or item nature (although if the items were created by the original and not unique and impossible to recreate it is possible given time and access to suitable materials Alibi could reproduce them as well). She will also have all power stunts if any associated with the various powers.

Mental Duplication: Alibi has the CL1000 ability to perfectly copy the mind of any chosen individual, including all talents, mannerisms, and memories. This allows Alibi to pretend to be whoever she’s copying with no chance of detection under all but the most extraordinary means, as even attempts to probe her mind will only access the copy unless the individual attempting to probe her mind has at least an Unearthly power rank and clears a red feat in order to bypass the copied mind and contact Alibi’s mind. She will also take on the RIP of whomever she’s copying or her own rank in a particular RIP, whichever is greater.

LIMITATIONS

Alibi requires physical contact of at least one turn in order to copy her chosen target, and may retain templates of no more than three individuals at any one time and must transform into that individual in order to access its powers, talents, or appearance. Switching forms requires one turn as she first returns to her original form and then into the new form. She also copies all weaknesses and defects possessed by a target, if any. For example copying someone who’s blind, like Daredevil, will have her also be blind while in their form. While not a limitation per say she tends to favor copying females but has no hindrances when it comes to copying males, and prefers copying humans over animals or other non-human beings.

TALENTS

Detective/Espionage; Acting; Disguise; Martial Arts A, B, C, E; Guns;

HISTORY

Alibi is a product of the same medical laboratory that studied and inadvertently resulted in the further mutation of the anthropomorphic rabbit Cornucopia. One of their research programs included a secret US government contract to produce the perfect agent for infiltrating enemy organizations and providing the perfect stand-in for high-profile targets and act as a decoy as well as assassination tool. Years of research went by until they lucked into samples of DNA from several superhumans with powers compatible with their contract, and years more before they finally produced any measure of success. Only when they got to Alibi though did they manage to achieve full success, although had no idea just how fully successful they were.

Given extensive combat training as well as the skills needed to be an effective espionage agent no matter the form she was in Alibi seemed like the perfect agent save for one small detail, they didn’t realize her powers were far more than just being able to look like another being but copied its mind and powers as well. This meant that as she practiced with her powers she was being given access to the minds of the various scientists and government agents as well, and as such she was fully aware of what was truly intended of her, as well as the contrasting evils and goods contained within their minds and their intent for her.

Considering the information she had access to she had little trouble escaping rather than be used the way her creators and their benefactors intended. Making use of the security codes and espionage knowledge she acquired and assuming the form of several agents she slipped out of the lab in order to experience the outside world she’d only touched from the memories of others.

Once she was free and clear she spent weeks wandering around just checking out the world and assuming a variety of identities. Finding the outside world even grander than she’d found it to be in the experiences of others she vowed to do whatever it took to maintain her freedom as well as protect that grandeur from the actions of others who would choose to destroy or corrupt it.

CONTACTS

Alibi hasn’t developed any contacts as of yet, preferring to rely upon herself rather than trust others given how she was created, although is willing to join up or trust anyone she has reason to (generally anyone she’s copied and learned the trustworthy nature of from her access to their memories).

ENEMIES

Alibi is considered an extreme threat by most government agencies due to the misinformation spread by the original branch that had her created, as well as due to her powers in general. Failed efforts to recruit her for their organizations also have her on the hit list for such groups as Hydra and AIM.

PERSONALITY

As an artificial being lacking a child-hood and formative years to learn from Alibi is still somewhat childish and emotional, although exposure to the memories of her various targets has helped to mature her somewhat. She’s as likely to copy a child to go play with children as she is to copy a super-hero for access to his powers and abilities or Bill Gates to access his money. While generally selfish and favoring herself foremost she isn’t evil and will help others whenever she encounters someone in need.

V-8 Character Sheet

V-8

Super-hero ID: V-8
Name: George Burns
Power Category-Random Mutant
Source of Superhuman Powers: Random mutation
Appearance: George is an otherwise average young adult male who looks moderately fit without standing out. When engaging in heroic pursuits he wears a dark red body suit with glossy black boots and gloves and full face/head mask and hood. Emblazoned on the chest is ‘V-8’ in gothic black lettering and he has several belt pouches and concealed pockets for things like cash or keys.
Height: 5’ 9”
Weight: 155 lbs
Sex: Male
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Black
Age: 22

Fighting: Typical (6)/Incredible (40)
Agility: Typical (6)/Incredible (40)
Strength: Typical (6)/Remarkable (30)
Endurance: Typical (6)/Remarkable (30)
Reason: Typical (6)/Remarkable (30)
Intuition: Typical (6)/Incredible (40)
Psyche: Excellent (20)/Amazing (50)

Health: 24/140
Karma: 32/120
Resources: Good (George works at a Research firm while continuing his college studies in order to get his doctorate in chemical engineering).
Popularity: S5/H10

POWERS

Body Resistance: George enjoys modest resistance to physical and energy attacks, able to shrug off Typical damage due to his enhanced tissues.

Regeneration: Along with his resistance to physical damage George’s enhanced physical capabilities provide him with Excellent Regeneration, allowing him to recover lost health twenty times faster than a normal human and may regenerate lost body parts and damaged organs given time.

Enhanced Senses (All): All of V-8’s senses including his sense of balance and pressure are enhanced well above human norm, functioning at the Remarkable level of sensitivity.

Hyper-Leaping: George possesses Amazing rank hyper-leaping.

Hyper-Running: Possessing this ability at Good rank George may run up to 4 areas/turn as if he possessed Amazing Endurance.

Total Memory: As a result of his enhanced mental abilities George possesses Amazing recall of everything he has ever seen, read, heard, or otherwise experienced.

WEAKNESSES/LIMITATIONS

George requires at least one serving of V8 juice every 24 hrs to maintain his powers and mental/physical enhancements. Without it he will begin to lose 1CS per hr until reverting to his normal (i.e. the stats lifted to the left of the slash in his FASERIP) human abilities and total loss of his powers. With the consumption of a single can his powers will return upon the next turn, however he can’t water it down or mix it with other liquids to make it more palatable, which is unfortunate as he feels it tastes awful and requires a Psyche feat to force himself to drink a can within a single turn, otherwise he normally requires 10 turns to force down the awful-tasting brew.

EQUIPMENT

George always carries at least 2 cans of V8 concealed in his costume on the off-chance his powers begin to fade as a result of somehow missing a dose at its regularly scheduled time.

TALENTS

Botony; Chemisty; Biology;

HISTORY

George was an otherwise normal college student when he was forced to consume a large quantity of V8 juice as part of his hazing into college after he’d let slip how awful he found it to be and had never had more than a sip of it in the past. Immediately afterwards he found himself feeling better than he’d ever felt in his life, even his thinking processes proving vastly enhanced enough so he quickly realized it had something to do with the V8 juice he’d consumed.

When the results wore off the next day he experimented, forcing himself to consume another can of the vile concoction and quickly found his previous abilities returning to him. Careful experimentation eventually revealed he as long as he consumed an undiluted can every day he would remain exceptional. Emboldened by the feeling of vitality and power it provided him he quickly found himself giving in to the appeal of running around as a costumed hero type and created for himself his super-hero identity as V-8!

PERSONALITY

Still young and idealistic as well as a bit reckless with that feeling of youthful immortality and invulnerability George is quick to act and get involved in things, although in his dealing with gang members and other more serious criminal types he’s been slowly developing a greater level of responsibility after exposure to the more serious aspects of the world.

Thanks, he kind of popped into my mind the other night while thinking about the thread DEM started about powers you'd never realize you have or get to use due to circumstances. So V-8 was born, someone who if he hadn't been forced to drink enough V-8 would have never realized he had powers. For which his talent selection is based around his trying to learn why it gives him his powers and how to work up a formula that would still give him powers but wouldn't require drinking that awful stuff every day. grinning smiley

I have done a Hero whose powers were tied into his caloric intake, but never one who had a
"Popeye" weakness requiring a specific food..I like it, as I said..LOL. That is actually a character
that if I was currently running a game I would have NO problems allowing in.

Well Popeye was extremely tough even without his Spinach, it just made him more super, kind of like Goku going from Saiyan to Super-Saiyan. V-8 is fairly average without his super-juice, although improving his FASERIP would result in an exponential increase in his enhanced stats so going up a CS on Fighting as a normal human causes his Fighting enhanced to go up a CS too. I just consider that not very easy as I feel he'd have to practice to improve those things while non-powered otherwise there's the insane cost of paying to increase the enhanced stat. I figure he probably spends at least 2 days a week if not 3 letting his powers wear off enough to work on his 'normal' self so he'd be better as a super. So he's leaving himself relatively vulnerable for a few hours on those days (although always keeps a can of V-8 on his person just in case).

Auriel

Super-hero ID: Auriel
Name: Auriel
Power Category-Angel
Appearance: Auriel is a tall, strikingly attractive and toned Caucasian female.
Height: 6’
Weight: 189 lbs
Sex: Female
Age: Old as existence

Fighting: Amazing (50)
Agility: Amazing (50)
Strength: Incredible (40)
Endurance: Amazing (50)
Reason: Remarkable (30)
Intuition: Monstrous (75)
Psyche: Unearthly (100)

Health: 190
Karma: 205
Resources: Remarkable
Popularity: 50

POWERS

Flight (Winged): Auriel possesses a pair of large pearlescent white wings that allow her to fly at up to Unearthly speeds. As this flight is inherently magical she may fly through space as easily as she does through the air, with subsequent increase in speed once she is outside the atmosphere. She may also conceal her wings when not in use, willing them to disappear and reappear in an instant (this will destroy any top she’s wearing that isn’t built to accommodate her wings).

Self-Sustenance: Auriel’s angelic nature permanently frees her from the need to eat, drink, breath or even sleep although she may engage in these activities for the pleasure of them or to maintain her guise as a human.

Body Adaptation-Self: As an angel Auriel will adapt to existing environmental conditions instantly with Unearthly ability, allowing her to exist without injury in virtually any environment. As a subset of this she is unaffected by extremes of light and darkness and may see clearly whether in the depths of space or the heart of a sun.

Linguistics: Auriel may magically read, write, and speak any language to which she is exposed no matter how alien.

True Invulnerability: Auriel’s otherworldly nature provides her with Excellent protection from all attacks save those of a psionic, non-physical nature, granting her a 5CS reduction on all incoming damage.

Regeneration: Auriel’s angelic tissues recover from damage with Remarkable speed and will regenerate any and all lost tissues within a day of sustaining the loss.

Biophysical Control (Regeneration): Auriel possesses Remarkable rank ability to heal the living and restore lost limbs and tissues. Use of this power will deplete her health by the amount of health restored to the living and therefore she is limited in how often she may use it.

Artifact Creation: Auriel possesses the Amazing rank ability to conjure forth as much as 50 lbs of food and/or drink to feed those in need up to five times per day. She may also conjure forth basic supplies such as oil, simple clothing, and tools within these weight limits.

Weaknesses/Vulnerabilities

Due to her angelic nature Auriel is vulnerable to attacks that are anathema to angels, such as strikes by objects that are unholy in nature. These attacks will bypass her TI to do direct damage to her health. She also suffers a 1CS penalty to her actions while in the confines of unholy or desecrated ground.

EQUIPMENT

Unique Weapon-Sword: Auriel wields an Unearthly material strength sword capable of striking for Amazing edged or blunt damage whichever she desires and may be wreathed in magical flames that will inflict Amazing magical flame damage. These flames may also burn cold and similar to Hellfire will burn the souls of evil beings causing searing agony that will require a Red Psyche feat to be able to function at a 2CS penalty. Failing to save will result in the target being stunned for 10d10 turns and inclined on another failed Psyche feat to attempt to mend their ways.

Battle Armor: When anticipating heavy battle Auriel has access to an ornate suit of unencumbering battle armor that will provide her with Amazing protection from all attacks and shines with a pure light that will inflict Excellent damage on all creatures harmed by such pure light such as vampires and creatures of darkness.

TALENTS

Weapon Specialist-Sword; Religious Studies (+3CS); Psychology; Occult Lore (+3CS);

HISTORY

Auriel is one of the many angels contained within the divine hosts of God, sent to Earth to provide it aid in the struggle with evil and inspire humanity to live up to its potential.

CONTACTS

God (although given He stresses self-reliance direct intervention is extremely unlikely and at best most likely to just provide inspiration or a seemingly fluke thing in Auriel’s favor).

ENEMIES

Satan and his minions, all other evil beings

PERSONALITY

Auriel is a fairly happy being for the most part, only getting serious in the face of evil. Knowing mortal beings to be fallible she rarely directs her ire at those who sin in small ways, preferring to deal instead with the obvious evils. The ones that might inspire others to think evil is the path to follow and lead others into worse sins or true devotion to evil.

Someone had an Angel-themed thread months ago and I'd started Auriel up back then (using the handle of an online friend that vanished many years ago) and just got around to finishing her up today. Hadn't finished pondering the rest of the features for an angel at the time but the mood got me tonight.

Intuition: Excellent (20)
Psyche: Amazing (50)

Health: 146
Karma: 120
Resources: Excellent (20)

POWERS

Enhanced Senses (Hearing, Sight, Smell): Vixen’s senses of Hearing, Sight, and Smell all operate at the Monstrous level of sensitivity at the expense of rendering her more vulnerable against attacks targeting these senses, suffering a 1CS penalty to resist such attacks.

Natural Weaponry/Claws: Possessed of Remarkable material strength claws on her hands and feet Vixen may inflict Remarkable edged damage against a target.

Hyper-Running: Vixen may run at Incredible speed (7 areas per turn), accelerating to this speed in one turn and due to her sharpened senses and reflexes perceives moving objects by reducing their actual speed to her perceptions by her Incredible power rank. She also generates a protective aura that protects herself and whatever she is wearing or carrying, is adapted to breathe at such speeds, and is able to tolerate G-forces that normal humans cannot.

Hyper-Agility: Vixen’s normally Good rank Agility is augmented by her Hyper-Running, granting her a permanent increase to her agility of Incredible rank resulting in a net agility of Amazing.

Hyper-Invention: Vixen’s Remarkable rank inventive genius augments her already exceptional intelligence in regards to all things technological; whether it be analyzing, creating, modifying, repairing, improving, or otherwise dealing with technology in any other fashion. Her genius is sufficient to provide her with a 2CS reduction off the final Resource cost of any technological work she engages in.

Immortality: As an unexplained consequence of her transformation Vixen is now immortal and does not die as a result of being reduced to Zero Health and Shift Zero Endurance. Her body will eventually recover from any and all seemingly lethal injuries.

Regeneration: Vixen’s immortality is sufficiently potent as to allow her to regenerate at Good speeds, healing ten time faster than normal beings and able to grow back any and all lost or damaged body parts.

EQUIPMENT

Customized and souped up versions of conventional high-end electronics, such as lap-top, ipod, I-phone, etc.

TALENTS

Business/Finance; Engineering

HISTORY

Constance began life as an extremely bright girl with a fascination for building things from a very early age. While she managed to get along well enough to have a few friends she was often too wrapped up in home projects and tinkering with anything that came her way. She hadn’t even made it out of high school before gaining the interest of Albert Jones, a wealthy businessman who saw a great opportunity in grooming her in hopes she’d end up working for his company someday. Her business internship proving quite helpful as she breezed through college, although favored setting herself up in her own company where she had more control over things (but gave first priority to any contract jobs Albert had around to offer her of course).

It was during one of her contract jobs that her life changed forever; as some super-villain (she never did learn who) attacked the facility she was doing some contract engineering work for. In the ensuing melee she was struck by a stray burst of energy and crashed into a cage holding a normal fox for some of the animal testing that went on. Something about the blast or the fox or some force outside what was going on seemed to cause their bodies to merge into one, fully assimilating the fox and becoming something not quite human as a result.

To say she was in shock when she recovered her senses was an understatement, as her mind was assailed by the range of changes to her body and mind that had occurred. Her already formidable genius augmented to a degree immeasurable by the tests available to the general masses and her senses increased beyond human comprehension. She was also stuck with a physical form that made her unable to pass as human anymore and all the problems attendant upon that. Registering as was required of her she did what testing they required of her while trying to maintain her business and relationships that were more than strained by her transformation.

Omni Man Character Sheet

Omni Man

Super-hero ID: Omni Man
Name: Alexander ‘Alex’ Cain
Power Category-Induced Mutant/High-Tech Hero
Appearance: Omni Man appears like much the stereotypical geek, although close inspection will reveal that his limbs are more muscular and toned than one would expect for his type. Originally possessed of weak eyesight requiring glasses he now only wears fake glasses in his civilian identity rather than have people wonder about his miraculously gaining perfect vision.
Height: 5’ 6”
Weight: 138 lbs
Sex: Male
Race: Caucasian
Hair: Auburn
Eyes: Blue
Age: 17

Fighting: Remarkable (30)
Agility: Unearthly (100)
Strength: Amazing (50)
Endurance: Amazing (50)
Reason: Remarkable (30)
Intuition: Amazing (50)
Psyche: Amazing (50)

Health: 230
Karma: 130
Resources: Poor(4) (Average high school student working odd jobs, although with his powers he can occasionally locate and retrieve items that will allow him to boost that to Excellent rank in a pinch.)
Popularity: S0/H10

POWERS

Hyper-Running: Omni Man’s hyper-developed leg muscles allow him to run at Remarkable speeds, covering 15 areas/turn (225 MPH) and may reach this speed in a single turn.

Protective Aura: A product of his hyper-speed and hyper-running powers this protective field negates any and all detrimental effects of moving at super-speed including the damage brought about from friction and will automatically expand to protect anything he is wearing or carrying. It will also eliminate the sonic boom generated while flying at or above the speed of sound.

Hyper-Speed: Omni Man’s Remarkable Hyper-Speed allows him to perform virtually any action 30 times faster than normal, including combat at the trade-off of tiring 30 times faster as well. As a power stunt of this ability Omni Man may accelerate his mental faculties allowing him to learn 30 times faster than normal and retains this information as he were a normal person who had studied it normally.

Body Resistance: Omni Man’s super-tough tissues provide him with Remarkable protection from all physical and energy attacks.

Molecular Control: This Monstrous rank power gives Omni Man complete control over his body’s molecules and allows him the following power stunts:
-Regeneration at Incredible rank, including the ability to regrow lost or damaged limbs and organs. He also recovers lost Endurance ranks hourly.
-True Flight: Omni Man may fly at Amazing speeds, moving at up to 10,000 MPH in an atmosphere and may reach this speed in a single turn courtesy of his Hyper-Speed. He may also hover in place and carry up to his Strength rank in weight on a successful Strength feat.
-Due to the continuous self-renewal of his cells Omni Man does not age and if subjected to an attack that would otherwise age him will either ignore it completely on a successful power feat check or will on a failed check temporarily show the outward signs of aging while his body works on restoring him to his normal appearance and physical capabilities.

Light Emission (Eyes): By channeling his internal energies through his eyes Omni Man may unleash Incredible rank light up to power rank range either in the form of coherent light (Lasers) doing energy damage or as photonic bursts doing force damage instead. His level of precision and control over this is sufficient to weld and cut with surgical accuracy.

Enhanced Senses (All): All of Omni Man’s senses operate at the Amazing rank of sensitivity and may see into the far infrared and ultraviolet naturally and hear into the infrasonic and ultrasonic range of hearing. On a successful power feat he may expand the range of his visual abilities even further, seeing farther into the electromagnetic spectrum.
-As a power stunt of his enhanced senses Omni Man may track a target with Amazing ability by the impressions it has left on the environment (energy trail, scent, etc).

Protected Senses (All): Due to his exceptional physical defenses and control over his body’s molecules all of Omni Man’s senses are protected at the Amazing level from attacks upon them.

Penetration Vision: Omni Man is capable of seeing through physical objects and other obscuring items with Amazing power.

Telescopic Vision: Omni Man’s visual acuity is of sufficient clarity as to allow him to see distant areas with Remarkable ability, with a range of up to 250,000 miles.

Microscopic Vision: Able to narrow his focus and not just extend it Omni man may focus his vision down to microscopic levels with Amazing resolving power.

Hyper-Invention: Omni Man receives a Monstrous rank increase to his Reason in regards to all things technological; whether it be analyzing, repairing, constructing, or improving upon existing technologies or developing new technologies. He also gains a 2CS reduction to the final Resource cost for any repair or construction work he engages in.

Power Boost: Omni Man may boost certain powers and abilities (Hyper-Running, Hyper-Speed, Light Emission, Strength) on a successful feat check relative to the individual power. Each CS of increase increases the color of the feat accordingly (+1CS Green, +2CS Yellow, +3CS Red) and requires a separate Red Endurance feat to attempt to go directly to maximum exertion. These increases aren’t without cost, as Omni Man is seriously taxing his body as a result. Each push requires a matching Endurance feat check at the same color level in order to avoid temporary Endurance rank losses and subsequent loss of health, and in the case of jumping directly to Red he will automatically lose a rank of Endurance from the extreme exertion involved.

EQUIPMENT

Power Ring: Constructed of Unearthly material strength materials in the form of a fairly plain and unassuming ring worn on the left hand’s middle finger this highly advanced device provides its wearer with the following special powers and abilities:
-Foremost among its abilities is the creation of solid energy constructs of pure emerald green energy. These objects may be of any shape or complexity desired (although for sufficiently complex shapes or devices a successful Reason feat is required) and the energy matrix can simulate any complex device within its wielder’s Reason rank to create. Once created an object will remain in existence until destroyed, willed out of existence by its creator, or self-destructing at an appointed time and will respond to the desires of their creator within the limits of their design. While these creations may be of any color desired and even made to look like any normal device when copying an existing device they normally have a uniformly emerald appearance and have a Material Strength equal to that of his Psyche rank.
-Flight at Psyche+2CS speeds in an atmosphere and CL1000 speeds in space
-Automatically generates a protective energy sheath around Omni Man providing Psyche rank protection from environmental hazards including all physical and energy attacks and providing all environmental conditions necessary save for food and water.
-Due to the psionic interface Omni Man enjoys a Psi-Screen of Psyche+1CS rank so long as the ring is charged and worn.
-Generate Force or Energy Blasts of any energy contained within the electromagnetic spectrum.
-The ring’s energy storage capacity is not unlimited, as such it must be recharged every 24hrs to remain at full strength. Failure to do so will result in all available powers ceasing to function until the ring is recharged. In order to recharge the ring Omni Man must hold the ring to its Power Battery for 10 turns in order to fully recharge it, regaining 10% of it’s 24 hour charge each turn until fully recharged.
-Due to the psionic nature of the interface the ring is bonded to Omni Man as such only he may use the ring and may even control it with concentration over great distances although the difficulty is greatly increased if the ring is out of sight. If separated from it he may concentrate on it to summon it to wherever he is which unhindered by transporting him it may travel at Shift X speeds in order to reach him quickly.
-In the event the Power battery is moved or stolen the Ring may track it with CL1000 ability and provide Omni Man a precise idea of where it is, although in the event it’s been transported across time or to other dimensions accessing it may prove problematic retrieving it (although given the capabilities of his energy constructs not impossible to develop the means of retrieving it).
-Omni Man uses the ring to produce his costume on demand, masking whatever he might be wearing in a bulky yet unrestrictive full body covering in emerald green with black boots and gloves and a flowing green cape.
-While normally unaffected by the destruction of anything he constructs if he’s consciously trying to hold an object together against forces out to destroy it (a cage holding a physically powerful being for example) the battle effectively becomes one of his Psyche against that of the attack in question (Strength for a muscle man, Power rank of energy attack, etc.). Failure will result in another Psyche feat to avoid being rendered unconscious for 1d10 turns from the strain. For simple restraints he can gain up to a 2CS bonus to his Psyche Rank if he can reinforce them by making them thicker (as per the increased effective material strength due to thickness rules). This however won’t help in holding together a ring-created device threatening to self-destruct under the strain of working outside its limits.
-The Ring possesses an Incredible Rank Reason AI and fully sensory capabilities allowing it to scan its environment up to one area away with Amazing ability and automatically records everything around it unless ordered not to. It is capable of communicating in English and any other language that it has analyzed and stored in its memory banks. The range of scanning may be extended up to Amazing rank if desired, with greater distances requiring a successful Psyche feat to engender. The ring’s AI also has Unearthly recall of everything it has recorded.
-The ring’s AI is capable of providing Monstrous rank Linguistics ability to its wearer; translating any language it is aware of into any language it knows allowing two-way communication. It can also provide translations of written texts although this requires being requested to do so or requesting it create a text-based translation in case having a text read off to him is not desired for some reason.

Power Battery: Constructed in the deceptive appearance of an old-fashioned brass Lantern (although appearing green rather than brassy) this Unearthly material strength device continually absorbs energy from the universe and stores it for the purpose of recharging Omni Man’s power ring. As such the lantern functions as a Shift X level Energy Source with a virtually unlimited level of energy available. Attempting to drain greater energy levels is possible although such attempts to drain more than the safe levels will risk the Lantern exploding in a destructive burst of energy at Shift Z levels destroying everything within one mile of it’s location.

HISTORY

Alex grew up much the stereotypical comic book geek, avidly devouring the latest comics and science fiction and fantasy tales featuring grand heroic deeds. Having parents that didn’t understand him and were unsupportive of his desires didn’t help him with being outgoing and either. Then one day life changed for him forever.

He’s still not sure what really happened, it had been a fairly ordinary day really. Duck the school bullies, get through his classes with as little trouble as possible, then off to pick up another week’s comics at the comic book store. That’s where it ended the ordinary day streak. Something happened, something that wiped out the store, something that left him unaware of what happened from when he went in to when he woke up to realize he was 2 miles up with what he thought for a moment was a replica of a Green Lantern power battery right from the comics, until he realized it and the ring that had replaced his own replica ring actually worked!

It wasn’t just that either, he felt different at a level he’d never imagined he could. Assailed by sights and sounds and a clarity and speed of thought he’d never dealt with before he realized that for him that dream so many if not all comic lovers had was a reality, and he’d become something more, something like his most favorite heroes in the world.

By the time he got back to the ground he found himself with the dilemma of how to deal with all that was going on with him. At least he could hide his battery in plain sight if he had to, no one would suspect it as being the real thing and everyone knew (and ridiculed) him for wearing a power ring. At least there were places where he could go and practice to get the hang of his powers before revealing himself to the world as its latest super-hero Omni Man!

CONTACTS

Omni Man has no contacts outside of his parents currently.

ENEMIES

Omni Man has not yet generated any enemies for himself (although being a super-hero that will quickly change).

PERSONALITY

Alex is still much the comic book geek reveling in his status as a real life super-hero, as well as the opportunities it has opened up in his life. His exposure to such a variety of ideas and concepts has given him at least an intellectual understanding of how easily things can go wrong going into things hastily and without thinking things through so he tries to avoid the failings he’s seen his heroes fall prey to.

Thanks. Omni Man's more of a one man Justice League though, although I can see how hard that is to note given Superman's template alone is so broad it overlaps others (like Flash). Went low level for things since so many can't seem to get past the ranks to actually see the character otherwise. Makes for an excellent mix of powers and abilities, a good Special Forces character but leaves room for others to be better in other areas (of that's what's important to them) and of course someone to fill that Psionicist and/or Mage slot on a team. Plus you can't go wrong having those extra muscle types who're also good for evacuating civilians en masse.

Amalgam Character Sheet

Amalgam

Super-hero ID: Amalgam
Name: Janet Jones
Power Category-Breed Mutant
Appearance: Jane appears as an attractive, modestly figured red-haired Caucasian female in her normal human form wearing clothing generally found in thrift shops and other low cost or no-cost ways of acquiring clothing.
Height: 5’ 6”
Weight: 132 lbs
Sex: Female
Age: 2, apparent physical age 17

Fighting: Excellent (20)
Agility: Good (10)
Strength: Good (10)/Incredible (40)
Endurance: Remarkable (30)
Reason: Incredible (40)
Intuition: Amazing (50)
Psyche: Monstrous (75)

Health: 70/100
Karma: 165
Resources: Poor (Jane generally works part time in order to afford the basic amenities of life, with the occasional use of her powers in order to ensure she gets a job when she needs one.)
Popularity: 0

POWERS

Mind Control (Possession): Unearthly ability to take over the minds of others; whether human, mutant, or animal. Initial range is one area to dominate another and requires a successful Psyche feat to resist (or suitable power). Janet’s body is immobile while she is possessing another, and while she is in control of another their mind is rendered into a deep sleep and when the possession is ended they will be completely unaware of what they’d been doing while in her control. She is still aware of her own body and what goes on around it and may move both bodies at once on a successful Psyche feat. Any damage to her body will instantly return her mind to her body as will killing her reducing her victim to 5 health or less. In the event of being forced from her target due to it being injured or killed she will be groggy and disoriented and be unable to act for one turn while she recovers from the shock.

Her control over her target is absolute but she requires 10 turns to acclimate to a particular victim’s body and as such suffers a 1CS penalty to all actions including combat during this period. Victims of this power may attempt another Psyche feat after roughly half an hour to throw off the possession and long term possession (over 24hrs) risks her losing herself in the personality of her target. If she fails any of the Psyche feats required after the initial 24hr period she must immediately return to her own body or risk losing her identity in that of her victim. She may control more than one target at a time provided they’re within one area of her although this requires a Red Psyche feat and the strength of her Possession is reduced 1CS for each additional victim past the first.

Illusion Generation: Janet may create three-dimensional images drawn from the minds of others with Unearthly ability, with the caveat she must be focused on a particular type of image (greatest fear, authority figure, etc.). If the target(s) fail the feat to resist they will see and perceive the illusion as real and react accordingly and if a group holds a particular image in common the entire group will perceive the same thing. While others may see these images only the particular target(s) will believe it to be real. Normal range is line of sight (or roughly one area) but use of binoculars or other optical enhancement (other than video or TV) may extend this range accordingly. All those within a particular area will be affected and it’s possible to accidentally affect neutrals or allies if care is not taken. This power may even affect animals although whatever illusion is crafted will be invisible to anyone but the animal(s) in question.

Telepathy: Janet’s telepathic abilities are of Unearthly strength as befits one with the genetic potential of Charles Xavier added to that of Danielle Moonstar and Xi’an Coy Manh. She may perform the following power stunts with Power rank ability and range:
-Mental Probe
-Mind Blast
-Alter or erase the memories of others
-Cause a latent mutant’s powers to manifest by triggering the mental ‘switch’ associated with it, although depending on their power this can be hazardous as the newly activated power will be running out of control for 1-10 minutes as they struggle to gain control.
Psionic Detection: Monstrous ability to detect and analyze psionic phenomena with power rank range.
-Astral projection with Monstrous ability
-Janet enjoys a telepathic rapport with higher animals, particularly canines, felines, and birds. She can feel their emotions, receive images from them and even see through their eyes. Suitably animal-based characters (Wolfsbane in her wolf and anthro forms for example) will also allow for this rapport to form.
-By tapping into the language centers of the brain Janet can learn new languages simply by pulling them from the minds of others and may force feed new languages into others as well (although this requires a Psyche feat on the part of the individual in order to avoid being stunned for 1d10 turns and even successful they’ll still feel a headache briefly).

Mutant Detection: Monstrous ability to detect the unique mental signature of Random Mutants with power rank range.

Rocket Flight: Janet may fly at Excellent speeds by generating thermo-chemical energy and releasing it through her skin. Her strength is considered Remarkable while in flight allowing her to carry up to a ton and may make an Amazing rank charging attack on a given target. This process is quite noisy and she has yet to learn how to muffle or suppress the sound of her flight making sneak attacks difficult.

Force Field: A by-product of her flight power this field provides Janet with Monstrous rank protection from all physical and energy attacks while in flight and will automatically extend to protect anything she is carrying. If she drops something it takes damage as if she charged into it. With practice it is possible she may learn how to project this field without having to engage in flight.

Enhanced Strength: By absorbing and converting solar energy Janet may raise her strength to Incredible level along with an increase to her health while active. During this time she becomes totally black and surrounded by floating black specks as she becomes a black-body absorbing all light striking her. This may be maintained indefinitely while in direct sunlight, but when cut off from the sun (say inside or in deep shade) may only function for five turns before having to make an Endurance feat for every succeeding turn. Failure results in Strength dropping to Remarkable on that turn and back to normal on the next and may fall unconscious on another failed Endurance feat.

Transformation: Janet is a metamorph, capable of assuming the form of a large red wolf as well as a transitional anthropomorphic red wolf form that combines the best attributes of both. While transformed she becomes more feral in nature as the animal attributes begin to manifest, and gains the following powers along with those she already has available:
-Remarkable rank Tracking ability (Good in her anthro form)
-Bite for Good edged damage (Typical in her anthro form)
-Claw for Typical edged damage
-Sprint at Good speeds for up to 5 turns, as well as ‘job’ at Typical speeds for hours before requiring rest.
-See into the infrared and ultraviolet ends of the spectrum with Remarkable ability
-Amazing rank Hyper-Hearing (Remarkable in anthro form)

TALENTS

HISTORY

Janet was created by the Brood, specifically the one implanted into Professor X at one point in his life for the purpose of creating a more powerful host for future Brood eggs. Combining their own formidable genetics knowledge and technology with that possessed by Xavier it crafted a unique entity blending the DNA of the original team of New Mutants that Xavier was in charge of at the time along with Xavier’s own DNA.

Unfortunately for the Brood Janet did not completely mature until after it had been defeated and later killed by the Starjammers and floated for months within the confines of its incubation chamber dimly aware of the outside world through its incredible telepathic powers. Absorbing basic knowledge of the world through this constant telepathic seepage she might have remained in the capsule for centuries except that her dreaming mind activated her flight powers blasting her free of the concealed location the Brood had stored her at.

Wandering through the forest for days operating as much on instinct as rational thought she hunted in her lupine form before finally encountering a small town. Her telepathic powers allowed her to skulk around without being observed and learn more about her surroundings. In the following weeks she quickly absorbed an incredible amount of knowledge, including enough to realize she was different from the humans she was observing and that there were others like her in the world.

With some stolen clothes to fit in she pretended to be an amnesiac who had no idea who she was and showed up at the local police station looking for help, knowing they were decent enough to provide her shelter and give her a chance to mingle while she tried to determine what more to do with herself. Naturally unable to find her in the missing persons records she entered the foster system and found herself put into school where she easily managed the placement testing due to a combination of her genius and telepathic powers.

Nearly a year went by before she accidentally revealed her true nature and became a victim of anti-mutant hysteria. Forced out of the town by the fear and hatred she took to wondering from town to town getting by based on her powers and having learned about the others like her with powers wandered to New York City over the next few months, looking to find those who understood and dealt with living as something not quite human. In the meantime she adopted a code-name of her own and did her best to emulate them to better fit in saving lives where she could as Amalgam.

CONTACTS

Janet hasn’t yet formed any contacts but could readily do so after finding someone she can trust.

ENEMIES

Currently only the general enemies who would hate and fear her due to her nature.

PERSONALITY

Janet is a surprisingly well-adjusted sort, with her powers leaving her with a surprising amount of empathy (of the non-telepathic sort) in being able to see the good and bad in others and seeing that they aren’t so different from her in the end. As such she does what she can to better their lives without revealing her powers where possible, knowing that they in particular fear telepaths and from their horror movies have a problem with lycanthropes as well.

From a job-provided standpoint he engages in various consulting jobs on a range of subjects giving him effectively Incredible Resources independent of what his powers may provide.
Popularity: 10

POWERS

Inventive Genius: Insight has an intuitive understanding of all things technological, capable of understanding any technology he is exposed to with Unearthly ability. He is capable of analyzing anything he is exposed to and developing new technologies as desired, although as this is an intuitive understanding he frequently has no idea how he arrived at a particular technology or design. In order to understand what he’s created he therefore must effectively study and reverse-engineer his own creations in order to understand the principles involved in their creation.

Linguistics: Insight’s intuitive nature also extends to languages, allowing him to learn with exposure any language with Amazing ability, after which he is capable of reading, writing, and otherwise communicating in the language as if he were a native speaker. This power is extensive enough to allow him to learn the body language of an individual, picking up on those subconscious clues to determine the veracity of their speech, current emotions, and even intuit possible actions in combat.

Computer Intellect: Insight possesses superior reasoning and intuitive capabilities, allowing him to deduce facts and make logical projections beyond the scope of most normal individuals. Power stunts include the following:
-Make unreasonable intuitive leaps of deductive reasoning, allowing him to determine things such as secret identities, vulnerabilities, previously undisplayed power stunts and powers and tactics. The difficulty of the leap determines the color of the Reason feat for the successful deduction. Deducing someone like Namor or Triton require water would be a green feat, whereas determining Donald Blake is Thor is a red feat.
-If operating as the tactical leader of a group everyone gains a 1CS increase to Intuition for determining initiative.
-Given his ability to compute an opponents movements and read their body language Insight uses his Reason rank instead of his Fighting or Agility ranks to determine actions like Dodging or Evading an opponent and allow him to apply these maneuvers to multiple opponents at the same time.

Transmutation: Insight has the ability to manipulate the elements of technology with Unearthly ability up to a range of six areas, allowing him to reshape suitable materials into any technological device he desires and within the mass limits of what’s available. Any such devices require as many turns to assemble as would normally take in days to build from conventional available materials and are limited by the energy sources available or can be constructed from the materials on hand. This means that if all he has available are a few car batteries he will be limited by their energy output even if he successfully manages the Reason feat for an Unearthly damage energy cannon. This power also functions as a machine-based version of healing/harming powers allowing him to inflict up to Unearthly damage on technology-based opponents like robots and cyborgs and on the flip-side repair up to Unearthly damage per turn.

Fleshsculpting: This Unearthly rank power allows Insight to manipulate organic tissue with power rank ability at touch range. As such he may heal up to Unearthly damage to any living thing, reshape its flesh as he desires, and even merge two or more living creatures into one living mass.

EQUIPMENT

Costume: Made up of a uniquely formed advanced nano-tech weave this Amazing material strength material provides Excellent protection from all physical and energy attacks, furthermore he may reshape it at will to appear like any attire he imagines allowing him to blend in easily in nearly any situation.

Optional Gear: Thomas generally manufactures whatever he needs from local materials, easily turning cars, computers and other items into what he needs at the time rather than bringing much along with him. He tends to only bring along gear he feels he needs ready ahead of time, like the vehicle he drives to get there.

TALENTS

Engineering; Electronics; Computers; Repair/Tinkering; Physics; Medicine; Genetics; Pilot; Mystic Origin;

HISTORY

Dr. Elizabeth Stone was a scientist specializing in genetics who did consulting work for both Department H and the X-men at various points in her career. Incapable of having a child normally she became obsessed with using her genetics knowledge to bring forth a child of her own using the genetic material from a male she felt would have the best contribution to producing a genius child. With her access to the genetic material of a number of individuals associated with Department H and the X-men she selected those she most favored and in a moment of genius (Red Reason Feat) forged an artificial sperm to fertilize her own artificially produced ovum to give herself a child.

Born nine months later Thomas quickly developed into everything she hoped for and more, his mutations active almost from birth due to her tampering and he grew up developing rapidly. By the time he was a teenager he was well adept at the use of his powers, having gotten in more than a decade of practice with his mother’s help making use of stolen information from Department H and the X-men to use their best techniques and technology in his training and education.

Having grown up on the records of the exploits of both groups and more he found himself impressed by their efforts to protect the world particularly when so much of the world feared and hated them. Inspired by their example he decided to become a costumed hero as well, and against his mother’s wishes adopted the super-hero idea of Insight and set out to make his mark on the world.

CONTACTS

Dr. Elizabeth Stone (Mother, Medicine, Genetics +2CS);

ENEMIES

Sentinels; Apocalypse (due to defeating one of his plots and for stealing some Celestial technology from him); Friends of Humanity;

PERSONALITY

Thomas is always busy tinkering and learning, studying whatever texts he can find the more arcane and advanced the better and seeking out unique or advanced technology he learns of anytime he can. Frequently chatty and given to long-winged explanations he’s nevertheless quite dependable and focused on ensuring whatever task is before him is done before doing another no matter how attractive.

Most of the characters are simply concept characters to explore a particular concept, the ranks aren't set in stone by any means. There are characters that cover the entire range of options, from Perceptor and Retribution on the bottom end up to Starfox and Nightmask on the higher up end. If the give people some good ideas to use in their games then they've done what they were meant to do.

Most aren't that powerful, they're great in their specialties like most heroes but not so great outside of them. Glad you like the work on the backgrounds I always tried to provide them with good backgrounds to complement their write-ups. If they've helped people with ideas for their games I'm happy for having put them together and presented them here.
