QuoteGenghisDonAnd yes, FASERIP needs the GM to make up house rules or else just override the rules in plenty of cases; sometimes in shifts below zero (or CL1000), sometimes about life/death (aunt may CANNOT be instantly killed by even a 100 megaton nuclear bomb at ground 0, and she can survive attacks of such potency fairly often). Great game systems still have errors; them being so blaring as t

QuoteDead SidekickAlso, certain attacks like machine gun and laser / light speed energy projectiles require prerequisite levels of Agility (plus modifiers, if any) to even attempt to dodge, and the impossible FEATs rules make those work even better. For example, it would take someone with Incredible Agility (natural or with modifiers added) to dodge machine gun fire, and the feat result must be Y

QuoteManiaclesAs for Rank... it not only seems to indicate your character's level of experience, but also just how much area of responsibility they have. Our Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man usually stick to guarding New York, so he's set about Rank 10. Meanwhile, Captain America is usually called to take care of international problems and big Avenger-y stuff, so he's Rank 15.
The problem is tha

QuoteDead SidekickAnother absurdity is powers are like feats in D&D 3.5. Which is a interesting approach, but then things that should be covered by ability scores like superhuman strength are "powers" instead. Spider-Man's "wisecracking" personality... is a power... that does psychic damage. Spidey can potentially demoralize Captain America into needing counseling by making fun of him.

QuoteDescartes DemonI'm not trying to be nit-picky here - just trying to figure how folks like Spider-Man, Cap, Daredevil, Black Widow (etc.) manage not to get killed regularly by untrained mooks in a routine fight. With the rules as written (unless I'm missing something fundamental), anybody can score a basic (green) hit against anyone else - regardless of the ludicrousness of the situation - 3

QuoteTaarnaThe best martial arts character.
In a fight between Karnak and Shang-Chi, I would bet on Shang-Chi every time.

I like Karnak, but his Ignore Resistance power under Weakness Detection seems just somewhat useful as you have it presented.
It allows him to Stun and Slam opponents whose Endurance are greater than his strength. Redundant. He possesses Martial Arts A, and that talent does the very same thing. So nothing is added here. He may even totally ignore the effects of armor, resistance, or invulnerabili

Latin, absolutely.
I would be wary of opening up programming languages to this, though. I suppose the way I would handle it, since they are technically languages that enable communication, I would allow such languages to be understood... IF it were spoken, and the individual with All-Speak can speak it back (verbal programming)... but unless the Computers talent is possessed, it's more of just

QuoteNightmaskOnly one I bothered with was Wonder Woman which was great but that's it.
But only the first one. 1984 looked shiny, but it was awful.

QuoteUsernameI got a permanent strike against me for posting a link to this site on there when someone asked about Marvel FASERIP that was the last post I made there. Which, I was in violation of their rules, but I didn't like how that was my one warning ever and it would never go away.
Dumb rules are dumb.

I think it should be a little more complicated than the enemy just getting a Yellow or Red FEAT. When Captain America fought Bullseye, he was able to deflect Bullseye's attacks in darkness and seemed like he could do so all night long. It wasn't until Bullseye tricked him by specifically throwing two things at once in an effort to force Cap to choose to open his defense up. He threw a shovel

QuotehawkeyeQuoteUsernameSure! Where can I see it when you post it?
Thanks! It will be posted in The New Marvel-Phile pinned post in the Canon Character Write-ups forum. May not be for a couple of months, but I'll call it out when the issue it's included in is posted.
I don't know what you've got planned, but...

Although I may not post as much as I once did years ago, I still use this site as a resource and a place that I enjoy flying by from time to time. I have CMF to thank for so many great gaming memories.
Never say die.

QuoteMajorSteelBut the joy of gaming is you can discard what you see as lame or tweak the events or story arc.
Yes, the Civil War stuff was lame and I did aa lot of discarding and tweaking to set that as a failed movement in the political and legal world of my campaign.

Saw this idea presented over on Facebook and wondering how you would write up the power to create a tiny creature with powers that you would control like a puppet while seeing & hearing through its senses:

Editing posts is something that can be done earlier on, allowing one to correct errors in the short term.
After that time (not sure the exact amount of time), only moderators/admins can edit posts.
Actually, I think it's kind of a good thing that promotes additional content. You may have wished to replace the

QuoteLuchoLove the artwork; did you do it, or who is the artist?
Looks like different artists. You might want to specific which picture.
I recognize White Rabbit as one of Phil Cho's works.
He has a page on DeviantArt with a lot of original commissions, some Marvel, and metric ton of DC stuff for something called the Earth-27 project.

Shielding for Cap works best against ranged attacks because he defend against those attacks that he can't immediately punch up close, and anything that is up close he can also choose to Evade. Don't waste your 90 (or 100) points of blocking on a single super-strong opponent's punch, just evade that and keep the shield block points for the little guys trying to whittle him down.

I am also suddenly in love with the idea of Leadership and team initiative.
Anything that makes the Leadership more useful than just "form a karma pool and gain extra 50 Karma."

QuoteManiacles"Automatic" actions don't refer to the number of actions, but the difficulty. Automatic actions require no dice roll to perform, because they're so easy. If the difficulty of the action is more than 3 ranks lower than the ability you're using to perform it, the action s considered Automatic.
Correct answer.

I prefer to just let armor stack even with built-in defensive/protection powers, because it makes more sense to me that way. But I also don't let characters just slap on a whole lot of armor one on top of the other without some kind of drawback or penalty to flexibility or movement, because let's face it, irl if you just wear a whole lot of clothes all at once, you're going to bog
