QuoteG.A.W.Maybe a less effective version of the SSS. - Didn't Nick Fury have a " watered down " version?
Yes, something called the Infinity serum I think, mostly to extend lifespan and maintain physical abilities as one ages. But apparently it's also a secret and I seem to remember a storyarc of someone wanting to catch and drain Nick to be able to replicate the pure formula as his body after

QuoteMajorSteelI wonder about this recently, since this was posted 11 years ago... what about blood transfusion/
I seem to remember that supposedly a transfusion from someone with a variant of the serum gave some kid hero who was descended from the recipient the benefits of the SSS but haven't actually read that to be sure. I am curious if that's something that'd work permanent or if it'd act l

I'm sure it's been covered before but - what is the best & simple way to change as written the Heir to Fortune talent so it works well in game?
Getting the Talent raises Resources to RM or +1CS to Resources if already RM or better.
Seems like the best way for that, without the 'can only get at start of game' deal since there's no reason why I character couldn't get

Check out the With Great Power system
The problem with points systems is powers are not all equal. GD Flying is much better than GD Hyper-Leaping and infinitely better than GD Extra Attacks. Even with 2-slot powers costing more, TY Reality Alteration can wreck a game.
There's no good way to balance EVERY thing.
Exactly. Even low rank Telekinesis has so many possible power stunts

Wow - i vaguely remember that show.
How can someone watch those shows nowadays ( without paying too much ) ?
Is it on YOUTUBE or similar service?
Generally either pay for it or find some site that hosts old cartoons but technically shouldn't.

Quotebarna10It is absolutely a waste of a talent. It does nothing for the character as written.
You really have to wonder what they were thinking. A Fixed Income/Inheritance talent seems more reasonable. It's not like there aren't regular payouts that many people get that are well below Remarkable rank in RL yet still give them a fixed income that they don't have to work for (heck Social Secur

Very true, Nightmask, but I think thanking people for hosting this stuff is fine. Even the mangled, early stuff.
Also, the linked UPB in "Advanced" downloads is an actual scan, not the "enhanced" version
Oh I quite understand that, just adding in the bit of caution about some of the scans not being 'pure' as it were. Although certainly the one project to produce new, higher qualit

Keep in mind that some of those PDF have been altered and aren't labeled as such, with someone adding their mods to things under the guise of being the original canon. For example in the Ultimate Powers Book some of the powers and the costs for them have been altered from the original print books.

Heir To Fortune seems to suffer from the bizarre reasoning idea that it only exists to explain why a character has Remarkable or higher for their Resource rank at start, that somehow a character would never inherit later in the game or that during random creation they could get a windfall of an inheritance to instantly raise their Resource rank to Remarkable or Incredible rank. So it's ridiculou

No, you lose everything when you kill including stuff in the 'bank' as it were. Several references point out how for one Wolverine hasn't seen any new power stunts or powers in ages because he can't ever save any karma and how anyone in a pool with him has to work to stop him from killing or also lose everything.

Good thing Will Ryker isn't being asked that question he'd snuff them in a heartbeat.
Clones in the end are just artificially created twins of people, especially when you consider clones with the memories of the original it would totally be murder to kill them even if they haven't been decanted yet. They deserve the chance to live just like anyone else (and I really never cared for the brain bo

Well it's called all-SPEAK after all, things like computer and sign languages shouldn't be included in it. Plus much of the universe wouldn't technically be covered as part of the Nine Realms (even if Marvel's pretty much ignored that).

I think I lost interest in DC movies once they decided everything had to be dark and gritty and dripping with angst, where even Superman couldn't be bright and shiny as he should be. Only one I bothered with was Wonder Woman which was great but that's it.

Yes they do have a ridiculous rule to prevent even reasonable stacking of protection so that you've something as ridiculous as someone's natural defenses being bypassed by an attack because they also wore body armor. So for example if you accept the rule Super-Skrull can't stack his force field with his natural body armor yet Susan Storm can project her Force Field over the Thing and he'd get th

QuoteThrudjelmerHow were your Resources? If you had some to spare, you could always have traded some ranks to boost your initial powers total.
Yes, going into poverty at the start is worth it considering how much buying a power costs after you get started. You can move Feeble Resources up to Typical way cheaper than the karma cost for the new power.

Getting a +1CS to Endurance means you roll your Endurance and then shift it once. That's pretty straightforward. The description for this Physical Form, however, says:
"Skeletals gain +1CS Resistance to Physical Attacks... All Modified Humans gain one less Power initially."
Later, I rolled for Powers and got 11, so I begin play with 1/3 Powers... except I have "one less Power initial

QuoteBWS2KWhich makes sense. It just so happens that this particular character rolled only a single Power and that was taken up by the skeletal perk, so they had no Powers, but we worked through it. Thanks again, all!
He shouldn't be using up any power slots on perks, they're inherent to the power category. It would be pointless to have bonuses for a particular power category that aren't actua

My apologies - surely, you're correct in what the +1CS helps against. I'm asking, though, what is that column shift pertaining to?
Example:
Mr. Muscles says he's going to punch Mr. Bones on this turn. Initiative is rolled and he wins, so he rolls Fighting to punch Mr. Bones and succeeds with a Green result. He has RM Strength and so inflicts 30pts of damage on Mr. Bones. As far as I

What about Masque, of Morlock fame? He could Shapechange Others and probably could have sculpted the "revisions" mentioned. I suppose it just comes down to how you want to describe the mechanics of what the character does.

Here's Ben Riely's page with all the various Firestorms. Should be at least a good starting point.
That's a poor write-up for Ronnie. Classic Firestorm had none of the listed restrictions particularly a need to know chemistry (he also had some of Martin's genius 'rub off' on him due to their being merged so often). He could easily do things like convert an object into a hot air

Does anyone even see prolonged power usage in a game? The impression I've gotten is people seem to hate it when things like battles take more than a few minutes of in-game time to run out let alone God forbid have things drag out for hours or even days like we might see in the comics.

The death of Diamond can't come soon enough, they drove a lot of popular independent companies out of business deliberately due to their monopoly control over things. The Federal government should have stepped in and broke them up long ago.
