Indeed- and it's strangely fortuitous you happened to choose this topic and that Thrudjelmer is the one who responded, given that Thrudjelmer plays a gestalt of Invisible Woman and Angel in my Roll20 Marvel campaign.
During our last game session, the heroes were trying to locate some bombs that had been set by the villain. The villain had made them invisible via a technological cloaking device

Don't care about comic books per-se, but I would buy this to use as an RPG reference when running a DC Heroes campaign. It looks really awesome.

Finally got to watch this over the weekend.
The thing I really liked: The depiction of Quicksilvers powers was awesome. If I could choose a super power, that's the one I'd want.
The thing I hated most: The Sentinels (and the fights with them) were lame. I wanted titanic robots scooping up mutants in their fists like little toys, and getting sliced and diced, de-limbed and otherwise smashed

I can believe it. They really tore some shit up in that film.
Of course, the price of failure was world domination by Zod. Gotta look at the long view.

I thought the teaser was awesome, but I'm not getting my hopes up. I don't want to face the crushing disappointment I felt when I went to see episodes I-III.
I'm going to see it. I'm going to assume it will be as bad or worse than films I through III.
If I'm wrong and it's great, then awesome. If it's terrible, it'll be no worse than I already expect.

There can be infinite numbers of alternate universes/timelines. Anything can happen in them. Any character can die (including the Living Tribunal). Any character that has been killed can be brought back to life.
The people writing the comics have the power to do anything they like. They don't even have to remain consistent with apparent laws they've previously established, if they don't wish

I'm completely unfamiliar with the Suicide Squad, as long as its a decently entertaining and well acted film, I can probably enjoy this.

You know, I typically give the movies a pass with regard to differences in story and character, given that the conceit is that they take place in an alternate marvel universe. But Victor Von Doom as a mal-adjusted computer hacker is just going over the line.
The first movie version of Doom was a fairly lackluster depiction of the character but this is really taking things to a new low.

An excellent point.
My campaign runs under the premise that Manhattan is trapped beneath a force-dome and that the villains have been fighting a running battle with the heroes, over the course of a year, so the combatants (on both sides) are a known element.
The character is sufficiently powerful, however, that even new enemies could discern his threat level after engaging for 3 or 4 four round

The problem with 20 attacks in one turn, is that it's a session-bogging time sink, and about as exciting as watching a game of mah-jong.
Just my opinion.

I don't think Super girl would've let him get that far. More like scumbag rapist would have reached for the shirt, then got his head finger-flicked off his shoulders.
Just saying.

I realize this topic is a few months old, but I thought I'd clarify that you don't need to buy a subscription to GM games on Roll20. I"m running a FASERIP game, right now, and am not a paying supporter (though I will probably become one, if I enjoy running this campaign). I also run an exclusively text chat based game, as I dislike using mic's and cameras, so it isn't necessary to run a game.

The old Mayfair DC Heroes game was another great game. I'm not knocking anyone that likes to convert DC characters to FASERIP but, personally, I've never felt the Marvel rules handled that very well. If you want to play out super battles between two characters capable of karate-chopping the moon in half, you really can't beat DC Heroes!

I'm 42 years old and am playing MSH again, for the first time in about 20 years. I'm running a chat game on Roll20 (for those of you that are familiar with it) and am starting to wonder if I've bitten off a bit more than I can chew. Well, I'll be finding out soon

There comes a time, when a discussion between people with two different opinions, ceases to be purposeful, intelligent debate, and simply becomes an exercise in attempting to verbally bludgeon the other person into accepting your point of view. This rarely has the desired effect.
Just something to consider, gentlemen.

I don't know how I feel about Cumberbatch playing Doctor Strange. I've only seen him in the newest Star Trek flick (he was okay in that- but I wasn't super keen on the movie over all. I much preferred the first movie to the sequel). I would probably need to see him in some other roles before I could form an opinion.
I do agree, it seems odd that people decide a movie is going to be terrible b

QuoteWell unless you've a common weakness (like needing to breathe) most villains probably shouldn't be able to exploit those vulnerabilities. Unless the character was intentionally going up against people it was generally weak against for some reason and seeking out people it was vulnerable to. After all Mind Control for example isn't common so if you're vulnerable to Mind Control you aren't goi
